Space Race was a map I thought of just prior to Halo: Reach's launch. I thought to myself, wouldn't it be neat if I could be launched really high, onto another section of the track, from whence the race would REALLY begin? And I told myself that it probably would be pretty neat. When I got Reach I proceeded to try and build this map, but it (read: my forging skills) couldn't quite reach what I had imagined. However, it was still fun for me to both build and test. I consider it something of a beta at present. It supports five players in the default Race gametype, and could, I'm sure, support more with some tweaking to the map. However, I've never seen a race game of more than three or four people, so oh well.

You start off to the left side, opposite that teleporter receiver node in the picture below. You drive up that ramp, and into the first of six checkpoints.

After that, you go into the launch tube, as I have taken to calling it. It propels you up and onto a platform, where, after a moment of getting back onto your tires, as it were, you continue.

Up the ramp, and into the second checkpoint.

Round the bend, and take a tiny little hop, and you hit the third checkpoint.

Down a ramp immediately following that checkpoint, and you come to a platform and a sudden edge, off of which you fly into the fourth checkpoint and through a teleporter, onto the next part of the track. I love that teleporters accept vehicles now! It's delightful.

Which is this. You have only to hit one of the checkpoints; and then race around the another teleporter, which takes you to the final part of each lap.

Again, you have only to hit one of these checkpoints, which is immediately followed by another teleporter. I attempted to make the teleporter the destination, but it wouldn't take, unfortunately. I'm going to keep trying, though.

    Once more, with feeling.

I'd love any feedback! And, of course, I have a huge thank you to Bungie, who gave us the most powerful Forge imaginable!

That's brilliant how you did the checkpoints sideways. Great idea.
