renegade ops doesn't really look like it has the kind of depth I'm looking for, and I have torchlight for PC, so I think that rules that out

Bastion is the best 12-20 hours you'll sink into an arcade game, or the new Toy Soldiers.
CBA to read through the thread, but that's my opinion. Two great games, but unfortunately they're 1200 each (I think)

You're thinking of Crimson, which is the Bungie Aerospace game on the Ipad.

Shadow Complex has a great story, and tons of collectibles for you to waste your time collecting.

You're right, I was. And Yeh, I'd suggest Bastion too. I've only played the demo, but it was pretty interesting. It costs 1200 points though, so get the demo first. And I've heard From Dust is excellent, but I haven't played it.

Gotta love me them collectibles, do any of the other games I mentioned (or you mentioned) have collectibles? (other than Shadow Complex, that was said already)

I know that Super Meat Boy has secret characters or something, but I have no idea how one goes about getting them. I might end up having to go get more microsoft points if I end up liking too many 1200 point games though, I just really don't want to resort to that.

Updated the OP, I have 4800 points now.

FYI, currently I am leaning towards getting Tales of Vesperia and Super Street Fighter IV (I would have no points left over if i did this)

EDIT: also, if a mod (like Orange Jay) could edit the title of the thread to reflect the amount of points I now have, that would be sweet.

EDIT 2: Know what, nevermind that, I think I'm just going to get Tales of Vesperia and Super Street Fighter IV, I know I like tales and I loved all the other street fighter games so I should be good. Thanks for the advice on getting Shadow Complex, those of you who said that, I really enjoy it so far. Its really reminiscent of the old metroid games in style.

I'm confused...you got more points but the two games your leaning toward are 2 things no one has suggested you to get...so what is the point of the thread if you already have a fair idea of what you want?

Don't want to sound mean...just seems like a waste of time.

The point of the thread is for people to give me other ideas on what I could get, I do like to know what other people's thoughts are towards games. For instance, I wouldn't go buy Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet if someone found flaws with it or had valid reasons to tell me not to get it, even if I had previously planned on getting it (hypothetically, I have no real intention to buy that game tbh).

Now that I have a pretty good idea of what I want to get, I suppose you could be right in saying the thread serves no purpose, but people can still tell me whether or not they think a different game is more worthy of me purchasing it.

Point is, I value the opinion of people who play games for fun over people who review games like IGN and other sites, I like to get a real recommendation from people that don't monotonously drone on about a game in a review.

...but you didn't ask for people to explain what arcade games/games on demand were better or if there were issues with any of them. You just asked which you should get. So you asked for a list and nothing more and that is what people are giving you.

And its a two sided coin, if you value the opinion of random people who just play games for fun than you are also taking their biases , their possible lack of knowledge of other games that they don't play, and the possible chance that they are just wrong.
