Hope the title caught your attention cause I want to show something I managed to achieve today and which I believe hasn't been done before... BUT before I say anything I want to guess what the map is by looking at the screen shots below: Guessed it? Probably. Now to the point, today I managed to get out of Citadel and was able to look around everywhere. The scenery outside of Citadel is amazing. You can check it out yourself by downloading this vid, pausing it when it loads, press Y and then you can look around. I haven't seen outside of Citadel explored so I'm assuming I'm the first person to do it (and show it to the world). It was very hard to get it the way I did so you can move around outside the map. If you dont think so, have go. Enjoy.
You're definately not the first to get out of Citadel, its a very easy trick to do with pan cam on any map. And I'm sure I've seen a video taken outside the Mythic maps, screenshots on Bnet atleast. Either way, the scenery outside Citadel is quite cool. Nothing much new though, Citadel is at the foot of an Epitaph tower (if not the Epitaph tower) so the scenery is the same, just without the brewing storm in the distance (or is there? I didn't see any lightning in the Citadel clouds). Bungie does put a lot of detail in to the outside areas of most maps, even if they are never seen by the player. Like the... Spoiler final part of Data Hive. Just behind that platform you fight on is a huge hole leading to some Forerunner engine for the Ark Portal which is seen in the Legendary Ending but never when you're actually playing the game!
Nice find. Can you forge on the outside? That's what I want to know. If you can't, I guess it would still be cool to look at for a few mins. Can you spawn outside or put a portal? Thanks.
When I get time I'll try and find a way to get outside and forge. The problem is that as soon as you get out of the map it magnetizes you the wall you escaped from and you cant move anywhere except a little bit up and a little bit down. When you spawn something it just appears inside wall behind you. I also believe there is a death barrier because at one point my guy flew forward sporadically and blew up, saying I was killed by the Guardians. Later I'm gonna try Heretic and even Longshore (I want to get to that ship out in the distance).
When you figure out how to forge out of Citadel try and test every times to see what fits outside of the map.
