I loves maps that have these things, idk but maybe because i like the feeling of being cramped or crouching. Do anybody else?
I like maps that incorporate these things. But if they make up too much of the map, they take away from the way Halo plays on its own. The way it's used in High Ground, for instance, is great.
They're nice features, but I like to feel free to move. If you have to crouch to get through them, long tunnels are bad.
I was worried about that when I made Hotel...2 I have a lot of crouch area..but what I did instead was alter the height to standing... having the walls lower makes is so you can't jump...making it more of a fight of placement then able to move out of the way... my map will be up soon... in a bout a week or so...
I am actually making a map with a sewer system right now. It should be finished by tomorrow, hopefully.
I began working on a tunnel system in my new map, but it didn't work out too well. But I love to implement them into maps to see what people would do.
Tunnel, vents and sewers are all great addition to maps. However, a little too much of them would just ruin it. Long, crouching tunnels aren't the best idea. This doesn't mean you should avoid them, it only means don't over do it, just like everything else.
I was thinking of a map.. the other day... where you have the feeling of always falling... still thinking on how it would work... but kinda having vent shafts and a mix of the concept of halo 2 where you fall in the Quarantine Zone ... I would really love to see a map made like that... but at the moment I am getting tied down with Engineering and Mason Stuff...
