i have one small request....i thought of this really cool map idea, in my opinion, and i tried to make it in like 10 minutes.....i wanna take a bunch of pictures of it, post them here, then try to remake it using interlocking.....also, if you can, i need help on doing 3 slanted double box ramps embedded into the ground....if ne1 can help me redo my map and improve it, please PM me and i will give you partial credit in making the map when i release it!
So let me get this straight. You made a sloppy map in 10 minutes. And then you want us to actually spend good time on it to interlock items, make it neat and iterlock stuff into the map geometry and then we only get partial credit? Depending on how big the map is, making everything interlocked and neat could take hours and hours > 10 minutes so our credit should > your credit.
obviously i would help interlock.....it just that it alot of interlocking and i just don't have the time between school, and weightlifting.......you know what, nevemind.....
There should be a rule against asking for help by making a crap map, then asking someone to fix it for them, then taking mostly all of the credit. I mean, this is the second one I've seen, and I'm sure it'll keep growing.
Did you read F101 Interlocking yet? I swear, it's the best thing in Forge, except maybe Soccer Balls. And since you said you'd do it yourself; Lock?
Okay guys i think your over reacting a bit...although frigoc you phrased it badly... he though f a good map idea Threw a plan map together(thisd be the same thing as you or me drawing the map on a piece of paper...just in forge)this is because frigoc has said on many occasions that he never draws/plans his maps hes asking for help form somene who know what they are doing to help him do it properly and some of the bits he wants to do ive tried in somethings before and failed dismaly *cough* map merging *cough* Hes is NOT trying to get someone to make his map for him,he just wants a helping push
Well anyway since you already posted this in the forging 101 interlcoking(which wasnt a really that appropriate place) Hasnta dumb cat agreed to show you how to do it over XBL? In that case i think this thread is redundent. Lock?
no, i dnt think he agreed to help me......if he did, i still need some1 to help me merge 3 objects into the ground at an angle....but, i need to learn how to interlock better.......
Angled object merges are about the hardest thing to do in forge. What I do is put the objects at the angle I want them at and then float window-panels around them to form a sleeve. Then I float doors into the top of the box and use the door-push (I have no idea what the real name is) trick to slowly tap it into where I want it.
he agreed to show you how to make one of those merged boxes perfectly then let you do the otehr two He also has fool proof way to interlock hat he posted there
whenever i try to do it with the doors, it works for the first time, then i put the door back in and try to make it go lower, and it starts lagging then flys into the air......
You need a more sturdy structure to hold it in place as you sink it. You should only run into problems with the floor eating your object... not spitting it back up.
Another cool thing about the door technique is you don't have to save/quit to use it. As long as you have your object properly 'sleeved', place the door, wait for it to sink in, then grab the object and let it go. Voila, merged in with the geometry; repeat as necessary.
k, i think i can handle the interlocking.....but, the merging, i still need help on...i know how to do it, i just can't do it right for some reason.....besides, it only 3 things i need to merge....ill post back when i finish my map, and need to make the 3 ramp things.....
UPDATE: I'm at a point right now where , in order to finish my map, I need someone to create the three ramps. I have placed weapon holders where I need the ramps, and if you know how to merge double boxes into the ground at an angle to make ramps, please send me a friend request. My gamertag is frigoc1.
See? Send a dumb cat a message over XBL and he'll show you how to do it personelly Once you know how to do it yourself you dont need to ask for help again
