    SOVNGARDE

Hello all welcome to a quick preview of my latest creation.
After recently finishing main story in Skyrim I seen some aesthetics I wanted to try and forge, I know they can never nearly be as amazing and jaw dropping as the aesthetics of the game, but I am doing the best I can with the pieces provided. I can see some structure problems with roof compared to height of bridge. The invisible wall is causing the problem and unsure how I can get around it.

I did want my next map to use the new maps from anniversary, but they have too many problems and flashing effects with hardly no pieces down, as I have seen hardly no maps made of the new maps I am guessing forge world is still the best place to forge.

    A few pictures....

...Not bad for a few nights work.... but still I want to do more. Inside is very big and easily big enough for a map. I was thinking invasion, infection and a few other gametypes, but this is mainly aesthetics and will be posted in that catagory.2000+ budget left..... I may change and make more true to original. I only went from memory and didnt explore the castle as well as I'd like.

So now nearing completion, I am fairly happy with the map. The map is made up of the dragon bridge, I also added a curved rock like where you get dragon shouts and even added a few words of power. Sovengarde palace is made up of the central hallway that goes down into 2 rooms, both made symmetrically, with a few pillars and some tables and chairs to seem simmilar, the detail inside the original structure is far to complicated to be able to make and have good framerate so I have left it as it is. It is a very simple design but ways around and pillars that provide cover and should make for some interesting games. I was thinking 3 v 3 - 4 v 4 in slayer or games orientated inside the main structure. And using the dragon bridge in 1 flag and 1 bomb games.
I am unsure if invasion will be worth making on the map, as there may be problems with only a bridge to get there, adding other ways would look silly, but could be possible using invasion platforms or mancannons or teleporters to add ways around.

Any suggestions, comments and opinions would be a big help.....
    Thanks for looking

If only the front side is open the map would probably look much better built either outside of forge world or just on the edge so it's just overlooking the ocean. The inside of the building looks really flat which would be boring in a game unless you do a really good job of building it up. I'm not sure if you know, anything sloped >=50 degrees will cause people to slide off so they can't walk on the roof. In cracks where two slopes meet, however, sometimes people can mange to stand there.

Thanks for your feedback... location wise I thought it was one of the best I could think of, the bridge needs to be connected to something and it saves a lot of forging and budget. There would be no chance of me moving map.
Every angle of building is at a 45, so no sliding problems. This is an aesthetic map and looks will be more important than gameplay, but that doesn't mean it wont be playable. There is a central staircase made out of staircases and tall buildings up to now. It really is a large distance down to the lower level and I think the way I have done it looks ok and should be playable. The bottom has only a floor up to now, but it is far from completion. Also I am aware of the crack that is on the roof and this will be fixed as I juggle things around....It's the height of invisible wall that has caused this problem. I will find a way around hopefully. Thanks

Looks really nice timmy, I've enjoyed my time in skyrim as well fantastic game, I havent spent much time on the main story yet but from scanning through the guide it looks pretty spot on. The dreaded invisible barrier is something thats kept me from forging some vertical madness in that area as well :(, theres not much to do to get around it unless you take the map to montana/alaska or the lil spot overlooking the canyon, but as you said you want it to be BTB perhaps and work well overall. One solution would be to create a different style of bridge, that slopes down instead of straight across, would give you more room to work freely with the inside away from the invisible disaster.

Im not sure if Id use the rocks as a bridge eitherway, one wrong move and you can attempt to kiss your assets goodbye during the plunge :), but I like the building so far very neat.

This looks gorgeous, Timmy. Is there any FRL? Wouldn't matter much, but most people like to enjoy good works of art without it.

The dragon symbol thing looks really good, too. I don't play skyrim, so I don't kow if it has a name, lol.

Anyways, keep up the good work.

I thought sliding would be good for gameplay so jetpackers don't go up on the roof. When you have something that looks this nice, it's a shame to have no one ever play it because you favored aesthetics over making it playable.

After your comment I looked into relocating, and started forging in an even worse place, but it was aesthetically a better place , but gameplay wouldn't work. After a few hrs on the other version I went back to the first version and from what I learned on second version helped me to fix problems I'd encountered. The map is now a lot simpler, but room for a map inside. I need to get back to sovingarde to get some better screenshots. See how roof is angled and interior pics. Thanks

Thanks eightball! No framerate lag issues yet. The stairs are a little intricate, but no problems yet. . . I also don't know the name of the skyrim emblem, but it looks similar. I will try to get some updated pictures up today. Thanks :)

Thank you! Yeah skyrim is an epic game. I have been on it flat out since launch.
The problems I had with height have mostly been fixed. I managed to get above invisible wall and reforge top in parts. It now looks more accurate. The bridge is a lot bigger, the bones of the bridge looks thinner and a lot better and unsure I how I can improve. thanks for feedback all!
