Now with the advent of new forging techniques and glitching outside of levels the V2 of my original concept lives up to its original vision. YouTube - sdcv.wmv The Asset of course is the VIP and he must drive the Elephant accompanied by a tank on a 5 point escort run. The VIP is very weak (NO shields and can only sustain 10% damage) so he must stay in the Elephant cockpit. It is barricaded and there are plenty of bubble shields so teammates can help keep him alive. VIP CONVOY TEAM Defenders spawn at the Elephant start point. Get the Elephant and tank moving quickly. Note that all future spawns will occur on the Elephant if your Tank gets destroyed early you can access a respawning tank through the teleporter in the back of the elephant. VIP ESCORT ROUTE Note the numbers indicate the three attacker teleport ambush points Attackers Attackers spawn outside of Sandtrap out by the shield wall they have normal traits, spawn with Battle Rifles, and are forced color brown. The attacker base is built on boxes and ammo cases (if you stand on the ground you will die). It has two Gauss Hogs and a Hornet as well as teleporters to three ambush points along the convoy route. Tactics The Spartan Laser is key for defenders. Grab it quickly at the top front of the Elephant to fend off the Hornet and Gauss Hogs. The bubble shields will protect the VIP from heavy artillery and snipers but not from a stealth attack. Attackers haul ass in that Gauss Hog or the Guardian mine field will make quick work of you. It’s called Skydive Convoy for a reason. Use the structures as cover to bring the Hornet in to drop a little assassination squad on the Elephant. Remember the VIP is the objective and killing him ends the round. One lucky grenade in the cockpit is all it takes. Since no-one else has had the courtesy to leave you some constructive criticism for this map i thought that i'd ought to. The basis of this map looks great, I do have one major problem with this if i'm correct in my thinking;The defenders are too lightly armed with only the tank, elephant, and apparently a laser? Why I say this is mainly because the attackers have: a chopper, 2 gauss hogs, and a hornet, it seems like if you just went at the tank at the rounds start you could end the round pretty quickly since the elephant would have nothing to quickly kill the hogs and choppers quickly enough. A positive is that this definatly leaves a door open for people to develop their own tactics as to how to reach the next objective while keeping, almost more importantly than the VIP, the tank alive. All in all looks like a fun time i'd love to get some custom games on this with you some time.
Thanks for the feedback. Actually we playtested this extensivley and I can definetly see why you would think its unbalanced. We tried many diferent combinations of weapons and VIP team settings to make this a competitive game where teamates have to work together to win. The VIP is the field general and plays an active role he has a 150 meter radar range. This allows him to early warn on impending attacks so he can direct his team on defense. Clearing a spot off my friends list and sending you and invite so you get some customs in with us.
