Hello! I honestly haven't posted here since Halo 3 forging was all the rage (I may have posted my one Reach map, though it's still been so long I can't remember its name). I've been working on a remake of Foundation, that I have entitled Skydeck, with attention to detail, proportions accurate to the original map and updated geometry to fit with Halo 4's play style. Flythrough and screenshots are credited to Sonkaro, his assistance was most helpful since accessing the file share and screenshots from waypoint still isn't available, he helped out via his capture equipment. Skydeck Fly-Through - YouTube Screenshots The map is intended for 4v4 play, zombies (naturally!) and multi team games, preferably up to 12 players. I did play it with a couple friends, and although it was an older version, the pace is feel is the same from Halo 2. Geometry was updated to accommodate the mid range focus of the game, adding cover to what would otherwise be a see first kill first type map, there is now enough cover to strategically fight and escape with good planning. Ordinance is varied and is located in areas that require vulnerability but is well worth the sprint, the Needler is deadly on this map! (and don't worry, there is no SAW random drop, that's already too frequent from player drops). The biggest addition and difference is the middle bunker has been modified from the 4 partitioned sections into a larger 4 way room, in a sunken ramped area, it is easier to jump onto it now, because you'll need too. A Mantis spawns on top of the middle! Surely this is crazy, how could that work? Well I figured since Foundation in a mix of longer range shooting and close quarter bouts, the Mantis would be powerful, but very vulnerable on this map, as it's prone to grenades and being boarded. It will only spawn 3 minutes after the match begins. Mongoose's take the place of the possible Warthog spawns from Halo 2, and operate well, mostly to just play with or get some nice splatters from inattentive players The map currently supports Slayer, Regicide, King of the Hill, Capture the Flag and Flood, I have nothing set for Oddball and Escort, but I'll include those 2 in a V2 version if there is demand for it (someone's going to have to walk me through on how to best setup Escort items). I don't think Dominion could possibly work on this map. If you'd like to play the current build and host matches on it to see if it actually plays well, search my gamertag: HaioFighter92 on Halo 4 in the File Browser. I may make a "classic" version as well, built for basic AR/BR spawns and weapons on the map for the appropriate classic gametype. Edit: How do I embed youtube links here? Thanks! Edit: Now compatible with Escort if you want to try it. Classic version also uploaded to file share. Same weapon spawns from Halo 2, no Mantis, Mongeese, teleporters/aux rooms and the ramps on the side walkways are just like the original (and the reason why I changed them in the regular version is I feel they flow better with Halo 4's playstyle).
I'm not sure if those side rooms on the top level are dead ends, but if so, you might want to change that so they are not any longer.. Welcome back
They're two way teleporters so no, I put them there mostly as an interesting mechanic for Flood, though I balanced it a bit by adding fusion coils to each room so you can't camp in slayer DMR+Shotgun up there [br][/br]Edited by merge: Update: I derped and forgot all about gametype labels and spawn labels, The objective gametypes should work (except for Dominion and Escort which I have no idea how to do). Sorry for the delay in objective goodness. And if CTF is acting up, tell me. I'd test it myself right now but friends are scarce today.
