Singularity A Beautiful Symmetrical experience Download: http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=15997352 Description: Singularity was a map idea that I came up with a very long time ago that started with just a line of boxes on one side of the map and a line on the other. It then later developed into the most beautiful map that I have ever made. Singularity is my baby if you would say. I have had this map finished for some time, however I have been scared to post it because I had the feeling that it wasn't ready for the world, but now it is. After three weeks of work and thoughts it is here for you guys. Singularity is a universal Symmetrical "S" Shaped map. All gametypes can be used but I recommend Multi-Flag. There are two bases that are lined up against the walls. There are various weapons at the bases including a Sniper Rifle and some BR's if you are on the Blue Team and Carbines if you are on the Red Team. The Blue Teams Base]/i] [img width=800 height=600]http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/7176/screenshotse8.jpg[/img] The Red Teams Base Another look at the Red Base There is a center divider between the two bases where the only unsymmetrical weapon sits, the Sword. It is placed right in the middle so it is even for both sides, There is also an overshield that you can jump out and get. There are two ways to get the middle section of the map where the sword is. You can exit your base and cross the bridge or jump down to ground level and use the grav lift to give you a boost to the top. Under the center divider there are two open boxes that allow you to pass through to the other sides ground floor giving you easier access if you don't want to go over the center divider. Re: Singularity - A Donut Original I finally got a chance to fly through the map in Forge and I have a few concerns. First, nice map. I like the layout, and I'm sure there can be some really fun, intense matches here. But, there are a few things that stuck out to me. The symmetry is off just a little bit. I don't like the idea of the overshield in the claw. It is much closer to red base, so that an attacking blue guy can jump off the top and grab it while assaulting red base, but a red guy cannot do the same while attacking blue base. Also, I saw a fusion coil next to a the right staircase as you look out from blue base, but no fusion coil on the red base side (can be seen in the "Center Divider" pic.) The other thing I was concerned about is the weapon selection. To me, this map looks best suited for a 4 or 6 person game (2 or 3 on a team), but no more. But there are a lot of power weapons on each side. Each team can grab a rocket launcher, a brute shot, a shotgun, a sniper rifle, and one of several BRs or carbines. I'm worried that the games will become a rocketfest. If you can kill the whole enemy team without reloading the rocket launcher, it isn't very intense. You should think about placing one rocket launcher where the sword is. That way, each team will want to control that spot of the map even more, and it might make for some very intense rushes to that spot at the beginning of the game. A simpler option would be to edit the ammo of each rocket launcher so that it has no spare clips. Each time you pick up the launcher, you only have 2 shots so you have to make them count. Also, you wouldn't have to worry about taking your team's launcher to the other side and dieing, thus giving one team both launchers (that would be very hard to recover from). To summerize, I suggest placing the overshield in a central location, and limiting the ammo in the power weapons. By the way, I hope you don't feel like I'm ripping into your "baby." If I didn't really like the map, I wouldn't bother typing all this. Also, I never actually played a game here, just Forge, so the issues I brought up might not be as big as they appear. I think it is an awesome map, but I think it needs some minor tweaks. If you like the map the way it is, I'll probably make the changes myself for my own custom games, but I won't publish it or take credit for it.
Re: Singularity - A Donut Original Hey thanks for that! Thats what I have been waiting for. I knew there were things that needed to be fixed I just didnt know what. I will figure out something to do with the overshield and maybe place the rocket in the middle with only two shots. Im going to remove the lazers too (they are hidden under the bridges). Re: Singularity - A Donut Original This looks awesome but what about taking out one rocket and one laser and putting one laser on alien side and rocket on human side to give them each one power weapon and make the side actually be part of the game. Just an idea, sorry for the bad grammar my phone is messing up.
Re: Singularity - A Donut Original But the laser is human! Just kidding, but does the laser have five shots to it or ten? I think its five in which case it should be balanced. But if it is ten and I'm not thinking right then it may be over powered simiply because it would have 2x the amount of shots the rockets would.

Re: Singularity - A Donut Original Yeah I guess but to take out both laser and rockets all together on a large map just seems weird. Maybe you could put a laser on top because there are always rockets or swords in the center of symmetrical maps. Just to change it up. My thought even though I haven't played it I assume there is passage beneath is put either a Grav. Hammer down there with a rocket or laser up top or a sword up top and rocket or laser down low since grav. hammer at the top of the map would be weird. Or you could just take out the rockets and lasers completely ;D. Just brainstorming here, I will come back when I have given it a go.
