    1st?

So, just an update on me

Got accepted to the University of Arizona, and I (finally) got my Eagle Scout Rank!

nervous about moving to U of A (It is in another state entirely), and was wondering if any of you guys had tips on moving in/situating

I got a full ride scholarship to the University, so budget is more generous then normal, but any suggestions would help!

College/Uni was an easy transition for me, but I know lots of people have problems adjusting. Just remember to both balance your work and to relax. I see too many people from my school get so anxious and tense that they only cut loose to go get drunk and end up harming their bodies with the drunkenness. Also, it's incredibly unattractive. :p

I like to think of it as High School +. There are not many differences, you just have to be aware of those differences that exist and deal with them. I've been getting no less than 3.5 averages (I think?) with this mindset, so I'll stick to it.

I didn't have too much trouble transitioning. I was ready to get out of the house and have some freedom (my parents were pretty strict).

    Hardest thing for me was:
-Networking. If you're in a dorm and/or do intramurals or are good at meeting people it shouldn't be too much of a problem. I had trouble networking at my old school since it was a huge campus and I didn't get into stuff immediately. I ended up transferring and had a much better time meeting people at a smaller school. It's easy to meet people through classes too, just gotta speak up. Dunno, has been an issue for me, maybe not for you.

Otherwise, yeah, it's like high school with a lot more free time but don't be that freshman who gets their stomach pumped the first weekend or something. Just be smart, so many underclassmen don't know how to use their head. Have intelligent conversations, that's what college is for, it can be a great experience if you make it. Also, read the material, I know a lot of dumb people who don't read and it's very frustrating for someone like me, not to mention the professors. Don't wanna lay on pressure but that's my advice once you get into the hang of things :S

Edit: one more thing, don't be a **** to your roommate. If you have a bad roommate just ask for a new one. I know a lot of stories about people with bad roommates and this alone can just about ruin your college experience.
