Im making an infection map that takes place in a city (big surprise) but there is a train station that makes the map two leveled. on the main floor i was wondering how dense to make the buildings, because im giving the infected the ability to pick up guns. I think adding guns will make the humans need to play MUCH smarter because if they die it will get much harder for their teammates to survive. In many movies about a zombiepocalypse zombies can only fight with melee based attacks. What if zombies where smarter? in the movies if the kills were scored humans would have like 90000 kills and zombies would have like 10, and thats not fair gameplay. So if the zombies started with an energy sword, and killed a player that had an smg, they would now be more of a threat to the team of players adding to the "oh crap where are they?!?" kind of fear you expect in a zombiepocalypse, and would make the game more balanced. tell me what you think about the density of the topside city area and if giving the infected the ability to pick up guns please. thanks, -saml1997
I'm pretty sure that won't end up playing well, seeing as the zombies will either have infinite ammo and be uberpowered, or ammo, and then they will run out of sword ammo too and be forced to find a weapon or die. Sorry, just the way I view it.
The only time I've seen it where having a zombie have a weapon was fun is in my game TANK D: I think of it as him having laser eyes The tank is slow and I gave him a spartan laser just to balance it out a bit. However the humans he kills move fast and only have swords
In theory it's great and might add more realism and balance to the game. In practice it would probably start out as infection and end as team slayer.
You might want to make humans alot stronger (not damage wise, defence wise), although it would encourage ACTUAL strategy in the zombie's gameplay. Also, if aiming for realism and changing gameplay, place zombie spawns with radio antennae's on, zombies knock the radio antennae's down and they can spawn there.
lol, yeah. But it just seems like zombies might have the mental capacity to work out "Pull trigger, gun go boom".
Everyone knows Zombies only have the brain capacity to use futuristic alien energy and gravity based weaponry which humans couldn't develop even by the 26(27?)th century
Zombies with guns are usually bad which is why no one plays with this. If acuracy could be decreased like in Flood this would work, but it cannot.
