Sermon is a map based off of the Temple in the level from Halo 2: Regret. It's very authentic and true to the original except for some modifications that allows for a more tactical environment. It is now multiplayer compatable and supports many gametypes including; Slayer Gametypes, Multi & Single Flag, One Bomb Assault, Juggernaut, KOTH, and Oddball. It is also my first map, so there may be things that I have missed and a little sloppy on smoothness, if you find anything please let me know and I will fix it ASAP and post it on FS. I welcome criticism so let me know what you think and it will help me when I make maps in the future. Thanks! Thank you both for the advice and the help, i really appreciate it. I think im figuring it out better as i work with it a little more. I havent found out how to get photos on from bungie.net but i got them through photobucket so either way it worked. Thanks again!
Wow, very nice indeed. I took a stab at remaking this section to scale, but abandoned it due to item limit... however, since you've managed to make it all suspended and included the whole structure, I think your design is much better!
Downloaded and run through but not had chance to play full game yet. Firstly, I was really impressed by this. I knew exactly what level you had recreated as soon as I started to run through the map. I like maps that actually look like something rather than a random floating grey platforms or enclosed Atrium with no way in or out. There were lots of interesting paths around the map and the weapon placements and spawn seemed sound (but like i say, not had chance to play yet). However, even playing a local game split screen with just two players there was a big hint of screen lag, so I am concerned as to how well this would fare in a large online custom game. I don't really know what to suggest to resolve this issue either. The outer walls use a lot of forge pieces...maybe replace them with larger pieces such as colly walls. Lose the glass ramp and the red one way shield thingy?? I really want this map to perform well because its so nice and its clear that you have put loads of effort into.
Thank you guys, i really appreciate the comments! @Gazzaverage, yeah i know what you mean. it seems to lag a bit by sniper spawn or red spawn, i wasnt too happy about that either. i could try and remove some of the outerwall characteristics, i guess the main problem is that it wouldnt be as cometically good but perform better. ill give it a look, but thanks again!
