343I has to give people the ability to kick people "IN GAME!!!" you have these morons like "Enigma Force IV" using racists remarks and creating hate and discontent on the server. By the time time you shut the server down "A FULL SERVER" to kick the morons off the server the morons leave before you can kick them off the server. Then after you have restarted the game they come back and start using racists remarks and creating hate and discontent on the server It gets to the point you don't want to host a Halo 5 Forge For PC server. This is ridiculous not to be able to kick user's "IN GAME!!!!" Unfreakin believable!!!! [IMG]

    Side Note:

I'd rather "BAN" morons that are using racists remarks and creating hate and discontent on the server!!!

You can at least mute people in game...

I'd suggest setting up a lobby here or on halocustoms to avoid most of the problems you encounter.

I know it won't have that "matchmaking" feel, but at least you'll be in good company.

also how do you mute ppl?

So how do I do what you suggested?

Muting people you hold the scoreboard button and it should tell you what button to push.

As far as setting up a lobby, check out
https://www.forgehub.com/threads/forge-cast-week-of-january-15th.155207/ and check out the various testing/customs lobbies and pull from how they are set up.
You might have to curb just playing your maps/modes, as people won't really wanna play the same thing over and over again (might as well go to matchmaking at that point).

Granted this won't stop the game from dropping, and there are no guarantees that people will sign up, but it sounds better than the hell you're going through lol

Thanks for the heads up but. Just posted the server info in the Lobbies section of Halocustomes.com under AdminIsAFK. So we shall see what happens. Just wish we had a dedicated server like we did in Halo Combat Evolved. It sucks not being able to rotate map and no able to kick or ban morons "IN GAME!" Thanks again ;)

I have an idea for a workaround... let's see if we can come up with something creative.

You have already written about a clever scheme you use to mod maps to include a force-death penalty if one chooses a team other than Red or Blue.

I wonder if this could be extended to specific player numbers. For instance, identify each player at round start, then give Player1/Host the ability to force certain players to always spawn/die cycle until they get pissed and quit. We may also come up with a way to prevent those deaths from counting against their team (more fair)

Question: Can a player be identified on an individual basis? If not directly by calling out "player 1" etc., perhaps it could be done by having players walk through a zone which would give them a label?

Host could have special ability to be only person who can use a switch, which would help him/her select the player they want to punish, and then "punish" command.

Punish command: force selected player to always spawn in a slow death zone. it could even be designed to look like a prizon :)

(I have a similar idea for a map/mode where Iwant to give one team the ability to send a random enemy to the "brig" for a period of time.)

Prevent team punishment: (I always hated it when the teacher punished the whole class for something 1 student was doing) Try to cycle in a command which, every time the player dies, adds one point to the team (or player) if suicides are considered -1 in your gametype) - Remember, the idea is to not punish the player by means of making them go negative in score, but in taking away their enjoyment from playing.

I'm not in front of Forge at the moment, so I cannot test the labelling of individual players and how that all works...

    Experts?

Well bud not sure how you are going to that. With all the years since 1998 of hosting PC games I have only kicked people that have created hate and discontent and for racists remarks. The only time I have banned people is for racists remarks and or continually creating hate and discontent on my servers. I will not tolerate racists remarks or creating hate and discontent on my servers period!. Kicking people off my servers is just a warning! If they do it again I ban their ass off my server's and never get unbaned. People should not have to deal with that crap at all PERIOD! They can go say racists remarks and create hate and discontent on somebody's else's server but not on my server's. If people don't like the way I run my server's they can go someplace to play the game. I won't put up with on my server's!

I have tinkered with this a little, and while it may be possible at some point to program it to work, it would be very difficult to implement and expensive in terms of extra pieces, labels and scripts, depending on the individual map.

There does not appear to be a way to individually call out players, except for forcing them to gain a label after doing a thing in the map.

Therefore, you would need to force all initial spawns to be individually isolated for each player to have a box to spawn in (a safe space, if you will), then the only escape of this box is to walk into a zone which gives them the label. THEN, they would need to teleport to the one of the locations you want people to spawn into.

Even then, I don't know how anyone would accomplish determining which label is assigned to the offensive player. you could script an object to follow players around and that serve as a visual label (each player getting a different color of piece following them around) but again, that gets really complex and hard to implement.

Then, lastly, there is the impracticality of it all. The offending player, as they continuously die after spawning, CAN STILL TYPE. it doesn't disrupt their typing at all, so your offensive behavior will possibly continue. The ywon't be able to PLAY, but they'll still be able to type.

might be a lost cause as far as a workaround, unfortunately! :(
