It looks much less impressive when you see the stock. It does look good though, and probably doesn't need any extra effects. But you can't really class it as original since you just resized, cropped and sharpened/contrasted it.

I like the first one with border. I think you should make the background more blurred and sharpen the person. To me it seems kinda like the background doesn't flow. Easily fixable either by blurring or creating/adding things to make it flow more.

That's where you are wrong :D

I added about three different C4D's and just set it to a particular blending mode. In all C4D's, I colorized them to the color that corresponds to the color of the bg in the stock.

It's pretty good even though it's an overused stock. The one w/o border looks better, but try doing a border similar to the first but just making it smaller.

Do you even know what originality is?

Everyone colorizes there C4D's if they don't blend. What do you think Juggernaut did when he made his Orange signature? Got the fairies to do it? There is absolutely NO originality in this signature.

Ummm.... When I saw the stock I'm like "Ohhhh... So all he did was slightly f*ck up the flow on the right... And then I though to myself... "Hmmm... Instead of telling him off for making a sig worse than the original stock lets be helpful." So here is what I have for you. I like the depth (Although it wasn't made by you...) and I think the C4d on the left worked well... It's very difficult to see the changes you made though because they are on softlight or something... Good job not covering the focal though. Also I cannot stress this enough...

New Layer>Image>Apply Image>Adjustment... It will help your sigs along a lot. For example... A couple Hue/Saturation changes and the sig would look more original and then you could adjust the contrast to make it a bit higher and add a Underwater Photofilter to make it have some different shades... Also some gradient maps would help.

I'll edit in an example of what I'm trying to say in a little bit.

    Edit:
All I did was used filters and I think it looks better... Well, I also cropped out the non-flowing part and added my style of border but still... Not much changed and it looks quite a bit better IMO.

    Here's yours for comparison...

    Edit again:
The above comments and critique are not in any way supposed to be rude... Merely helpful.

I'm just going to point out that he is new here, and that he does not use photoshop, like some of the other members here he uses gimp. Which doesn't have a underwater photofilter or adjustment layers the way you explained them, niether does it have a apply image option like you explained it. This type of thing is why I encourage people to tell people what they use, because you just wasted a few minutes writing that and he can't use a major part of it. Which is why I'm gonna try and translate all that can be done into gimp terms for him, although I don't really like your out come any more than his I do agree that he didn't do enough. Now on to the translation, to apply the image, EDIT>Copy Visible then Edit>paste as> new layer. Hue saturation is under colors. gradient maps are done on the copied visible layer then set to whatever layer setting you wish.

also, not meaning to be rude there, just saying...

I got that stock from Ice's stock pack. That is an amazing stock. All it really looks like you did to the stock though is just crop it? What else did you do?

It's not the user's fault for not saying he uses GIMP, the person also has a responsibility of making sure of what he uses. So he could have asked what he used before he gave guidelines.

Didn't say it was his fault, said I encourage it so we don't have this type of misunderstanding.

Quit being a jackass. There's no reason to hold a grudge against him.

Ah, but you wouldn't encourage a solution if there wasn't a problem, would you?

It is a problem, but its not his fault because I think I'm yet to tell him either way, its up to the person CnCing to handle that kind of stuff it would just be helpful, don't you agree with that?

Haha... I like how you posted no CnC even though that is what he asked for... Then you continue to insult one of the two people on here actually giving specific critique and ways of fixing it... Then you insult my work which was merely and example that I made in literally less than 80 seconds (Ask Randle... I was IMing him at the time) and then you tell me I'm rude while being an asshole?

    WTF?

Edit: Oh and Frag... Why does Mace have a grudge against me?
