I think sky could be a decent theme, there are lots of great sky scenery pics out there. The others are also fine, but I think darkness would have a lot of sketchy submissions that aren't really dark.
ANOUNCEMENT: Week 17 is halo reach screenshots. (taken in the beta). The submissions will be going on until the monday after the reach beta ends. Voting will be one week. Week 17 is a special, I really hope to get lots of submissions PS. Week 18 and on are gonna be normal
Yeah, there gonna be swayed to mostly action shots snce not that many people will be able to do Effects.
Can we exclude funny shots from submission, cause lets face it, they take like no time and effort to make and I think someone who put actual effort into finding a sweet new effect should win.
The voters really decide that. Funny doesnt always meet the theme in a good way. Lets say the theme is recon and two people submit screenshots, one is a cool effect the other a funny pic where he happens to wear teh conz. The other wouldnt be counted. But for week 17, they will be allowed
W'ell ill be pretty pissed off if some dumb screenshot with a lucky pose that looks funny wins where other people will have actually spent work on their shot don't.
what does it matter if its funny or not? I know you screenshot snobs like to go on about the awesome effect you captured, but the winner doesn't have to be the pic that was most difficult to take. power to the people.
Oh, thanks for telling me --- I have a decent idea/suggestion, since SOTW is hard to run and requires a lot of time, you could have SOTW mods/assistants to help you with filtering out screenshots that don't follow the theme, notifying people of rules or if there screenshot doesn't follow the rules, coming up with theme ideas, etc. If you think this is a good idea, I'd be willing to fill in that spot, and I wouldn't submit anymore to make it more unbias. Again, this is just a suggestion, so I don't mind if you don't listen to me, it just seems like a good idea.
Just throwing this out there, but the most current SOTW (mythology, or something) banner, the bottom of the "T" has a little of the picture popping out of the border. Might wanna check that one out, and fix it fast!
