This sounds obvious, but it's too easy to hit a roll and forget to save. Tonight, I did just that. I was using the interlocking objects technique, no big deal so far. But here's why I'm posting this story: I apparently hit the limit of rounds in a Forge game, and the game ended. As you may have guessed, I lost a lot of work. I thought I'd hit the wrong button, but later tonight it happened again (fortunately I'd learned my lesson and didn't lose anywhere near as much work). So be aware: Forge apparently has built in limits to the number of rounds, and if you haven't saved, you'll lose your work!
Wow thanks for the info..I have never had that problem, but I do save a lot, but sometimes you do forget
I just recently heard about this. I save often and also restart the game whenever I get done with a big section of the map.
I spent 5 hours making a nice In the Shadows map.... let me say that again 5 HOURS! I set a box not to respawn for 180 seconds selected start new round and BAM! Game Over. ****!, exclaimed Reap3r 13.
The fact that it is 32 rounds, verified, should be made public as soon as possible. I never had this happen, but knowing all that I've done could be erased, and knowing now how to prevent it, is an excellent service. Incidentally, a related bug I've had happen was becoming for some reason unable to "save changes". The option was gone, all I could do was save the map as a new map. Can anyone confirm what causes this particular glitch as well? Its only happened to me twice.
Yup I can confirm this. This is how it happens: Basically, this only happens when you load up Halo 3, and and start working on the map (that you had previously worked on before turning off Halo) without loading your Saved games data. To fix this: Go into Forge/Custom games/Whatever. Go onto Map so that it reloads your saved game information and then reselect your map.
Coolant: Finally, the last step to my new scarab. All i have to do is restart the round and set the wall to respawn at the beginning at the game, and not 30 seconds after. Start > Start new round > yes Game Over! ****!!!!!
My Xbox once froze in Forge. Good thing I was only two minutes into designing. Thanks for the heads up though.

Lots of swearing, some couch hitting. It wasn't the scarab though, it was my new map, The Office.
I remeber trying to buid on of my mini games and my power went out right in the middle of its construction.
luckily, I don't have to worry about this. after years of using win 95/98 (obviously I continued to upgrade to 2000, xp, and now vista), I learned one thing from an OS that crashes whenever a program realizes that you did something it wasn't expecting: save early, save often. Honestly, those win 9x computers crashed because I turned my sound too high!
Thank you very much for the information, I restart rounds pretty often in Forge so maybe this info will be a lifesaver one day. :squirrel_jaffa:
