Well, yes - obviously. But, there's a lot of more space in Sandbox. And a lot more objects you can work with in Sandbox. Also, if you were to fall off the track floating up there in the "sky bubble", death is certain. It just would be a lot easier to do something like a race track in Sandbox. I agree with you when you say "Of course, you could make a really awesome one on Sandbox...". But, when you get down to the point, most recent race tracks are not usually built a lot in mid-air. If not, never. So this would make a more enjoyable experience for the racers, and and easier experience for the forger. Being that you have a blank canvas to work with in the "sky buuble".
Has anyone thought about making like a Bumper car/sumo with vehicles up in the sky bubble? I was just thinking about Fusion Frenzy, and I got that idea. It seems like it would be pretty fun.
So I just thought about how many 100 items is... and it's actually quite a lot. Count to 100. It takes a while. Imagine each on of the asterisks below being an object: * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Of course, weapons will take up space too, but that is sill a lot of objects. (Spawn points don't take up space do they? Sorry if that was a silly question). Oh, and BTW I didn't waste 5 minutes putting those asterisks there. I just copied and pasted Edit: I hope you didn't get confused when I said 100 items, I was just using that as an even number. You can place many more objects than that on Sandbox.
So, you think we'll only be able to place 100 objects? I really don't know what you're talking about.
We have about twice as many objects that would can put on the map than Foundry. Foundry's limit is like 300.
meh, budget doesn't matter. At least i dont see it being any sort of problem. glitch it if all else fails. and if you're using that many objects, then you're obviously not making a serious map soooo... not really a factor.
Or you're making the most serious map EVER Like, say, you wanted to build something on multiple tiers. Since each one is a level, you'll probably run out of items...
What have you heard about my map!? /paranoia Anyway yeah, we have more budget to use but alot of the items cost more. And the item limit could seriously stop us if we have to block up a big map in the middle, or create to much floor in a sky map.
*Facepalm!* Have you seen how big the sky bubble is? If a person made a large map, it would require more items. Sandbox has a ton of forging space, so I don't see how using a lot of objects is un-serious... The only problem with budget glitching is the fact that the system can't handle too many objects, and it would lag a lot if you had a lot of people. I guess we will have to wait and see what forging on Sandbox will be like when we actually get the map.
There is no point in budget glitching on Sandbox. You reach the item limit before you reach the budget limit
I finaly got some applications on my IPod Touch, and might I add that I am addicted to Monkey Ball again! Back when the GameCube was cool, I would always play that game. It was the most innovative game of all time... that is untill I was introduced to Shoot Em' Up Games. Instead of jumping right in with a Boarding Action remake... I think I might make a new Mini Game up in the Sky Ball. I won't go into detail, but it will be a Competitive Mini Game. Kind of like Monster Trucks, but not. Because I hate Monster Trucks. This instead will use Mongooses, and test your skill to the fullest.
Wait what? What does that have to do with Sandbox? If you hate Monster Trucks why would you make a Monster Trucks map, but only with Mongooses. It will be the same, just more aggrivating and difficult to ram other players off the platform.
Better Plan: Include all three levels. Air vehicles in the sky bubble, Warthogs and Tanks in the middle, mongi in the crypt. =]
Haven't any of you played Monkey Ball!? Fine, let me explain... most likely I will release a map pack a few months after the Sandbox release labeled "The Monkey Ball Map Pack." The map pack will include multiple maps in the Sky Bubble. That is why I mentioned Monky Ball. One of them will allow multiple people to ride down a long ramp, launch off, and hit a target board. This will work for territories, and will be similar to Deathtoll's map: Spear Point. Another map will include a large floating arena will holes in it. Fall through a hole and you die. Every map will be based off of the multiplayer mini games from Monkey Ball. Back on topic however, how would Monster Air Vehicles work!? I never said I was going to make a Monster Truck map, so you all fail.
I decided what I'm going to do, but I have no clue how to do it just yet. After playing many, many games of Convoy Tunnel, I got the inspiration to create something like it. I want to create the same feel of Convoy Tunnel, which is a convoy of vehicles going through a tunnel and the infected swarming at them. I want to do this with air vehicles somehow. For some reason, I just love the epic feeling of people sitting on a hornet while someone is flying it. I would make it in the sky bubble, but there are other problems. Convoy tunnel is a linear game, and there would be an easy way of keeping it linear if it was just a giant flying space. I could change it to VIP, so the convoy would have to move to points in order as well, but they wouldn't become infected. I will have to ponder this more. Maybe if I create a somewhat open but still enclosed hallway, but that would take way to many resources.
