Also another note, in the description, they mention it as an excavation site, I haven't seen many sign's of digging other than that hole. The evidence is just piling up. I can't wait until they release this info hopefully Friday.
I registered just so I could add this point in. Bungie uploaded high res images, and do you know what this particular screenshot is called? "Digsite." You know what they mentioned as one of the variants playable day one? "Sandcano." Volcanos are under the surface of the earth, with a stereotypical "hole" in them. I don't think these points have been added yet , if they have, my bad.

I have a feeling the Sandbox skull will be the hardest to find yet, including the other MP maps being released and campaign, or the easiest. either one.
yes, that does look plugged up. but dont be fooled by the fact that it looks different from everything else around it, as the middle of things usually do, such as the middle of a turbine, wheels, things along those lines. im not getting my hopes up.
But can you explain why it's a little lower than the ground above? Don't you think it should be flush with the ground around it?

top one dun wurk 4 meh Assembly looks like the Halo 2 ramake of a halo CE map which both names escape me. it was in the last DLC for Halo 2 Orbital looks interesting to play on but with horrible forge capabilitie.
Bah, they took the Sandbox page down already. Sneaky sneaky ninjas. edit- or the link is broken... I can't really see the hole or the plug in that picture. I see a discolored area under the Warthog, but that doesn't prove anything.

It's weird how the bases are slightly off the sides. I wonder if it's just for the sake of gameplay...
