    Samurai
    On the Octagon

Hey guys, I decided to finally post one of my more popular maps amongst my friends. Anyway, a long time back I noticed people always fighting over who was the better sword-fighter in Halo, bla bla bla. Well who's not? As long as you get your cursor over them you'll automatically spring at them.

But not if you're on the same team...

This map is called the Octagon, it is a simple 8-sided room that was built for many, many mini-games. One of those games is Samurai. Every player needs to be on the same team, and no matter what team you are on, you will all be gold from beginning to end. You get 1 point individually for a betrayal (kill), you get -1 points for dying. The player with the most points after 4 rounds (2 minutes a piece) will be the victor, although the team score will never change from the original 0 points.

You start with a sword and nothing else, have unlimited ammo, cannot jump more than a couple inches in the air, move with 200% speed, and do 300% damage. You can play with up to 16, but I've only played with around 12 or so I think (tested and played it a long time ago). Probably best with around 6-10, I don't remember any lag (not surprising with the small amount of stuff on the map). I don't think it will be an issue, so play with as many as you'd like, have fun!

    Feel the sting of betrayal...

Showdown, what's next, I'm taking bets.

Actually this is what happens, the swords collide knocking each opponent back and creating massive sparks...

To be-tray, or not to be-tray, that is the question...

In addition to Samurai I'm going to go ahead and put a link here for my other popular mini-game on this map, No Scope Heaven. As the name indicates, it's time for some sniper fun in a small, enclosed space.

Technically, you don't have to ever No-Scope throughout the game, but I'd say if you can it's better. What's most important is getting headshots. Every headshot will earn you 5 points, while a Death will lose you 2 points. Killing someone while on a Spree (which is not likely to happen for any real length of time) will also land you 5 points per kill, so even if you don't get headshots at that point, killing can score you big.

You might look at the scoring for that and go "wtf?" but I guarantee you the best sniper for the game usually comes out on top. In this way it is fair, but it is also fun because I've literally been down 30-40 points with only a couple of minutes left and came back and won. The idea is that the best player throughout the whole game usually wins, but you can rack up so many points in such a short time that you're never down and out even if it seems like you are. You can definitely score 10-15 points without much difficulty if you get a few good (or lucky) headshots in a few seconds.

This is a very nice map and the ideas are great, I love how you put people on the same team because then it truly involves skill plus I am tired of all those sword fighting maps were people just lunge it pisses me of. Great map

Oh I remember this map from Halo 3. That brings me back old memories when people invite me to Custom Games and play different types of maps like this but with random weaponarys. I liked the energy sword fighting idea, I think I'll be hectic. Not like too many players or something like that but the sword fighting and with ten people it'll be insane. A great map and it's well thought out. Well Done.

That's one original idea, I've never seen anything like this before.
    Clever thinking.

The only downside I can tell up to now (without playing) is the lack of aesthetics. If you try your best to give the map some kind of theme or just make it have an overall good look, there will be a lot more people to pick this one up and give it a download.
    But great idea so far.

The sniper minigame sounds fun as well, I think I should try it out sometime. :)
