Wilderness and Free Trade Vote News Entry Voting Page Apparently Jagex has had their ears thoroughly filled by ranting players from the Pre-Catastrophic Update of 2007 Era. Unbelievably, they are now holding a vote on whether or not to return the Old Wildy and restore Free Trade. While Jagex has not given a specific amount of votes to sway the decision one way or the other,(however unlikely this may seem) this thing is legit. Oddly enough, the voting system only requires you to enter the name of a valid Runescape account to cast a vote. I'm sure this will be or already is being abused, so it all seems sketchy still. I'm probably seeing my childhood hopes rise from the ashes once more only to be crushed, once more, and for all. But there seems to be a glimmer of hope in the air... All I can do now is spread the word here to FH and implore you to VOTE YES. No word yet on what specific changes (if any) will be made. UPDATE: Alright, we have some news. Jagex has acknowledged the petition due to a massive amount of votes in a short amount of time and has moved into phase 2 of their little scheme: a referendum. This referendum explains the changes that will be made and now requires you to log in to cast a vote. So hop to it and vote again! We already have a good percentage going, so bump it up! Referendum Final Update: Jagex has announced that the Old Wilderness and Free Trade will be returning to Runescape on February 1st. Hell yeah. News Entry
They're not going to deny it after creating publicity for it, that would make them seem like dicks. If they make a poll for an something they are already planning on doing, the community will think they make a difference, and love them for it. There's a reason they don't require you to log into vote, they're trying to tip the scales in favor of it because they were already planning on doing it. Pretty sure it's going to happen. I'm excited. Votes are good though, keep voting. I'm going to have to try out runescape again once they implement this. Wildy used to be so fun.
I totally agree. Was just saying to my brother that they have to want this to happen, they're just trying to make us feel like it's up to us. Makes sense, especially when you read this EPIC prophetic thread on the forums. Op is not a ***, but the Nostradamus of Runescape. <3
I'll probably never play this game again, but to make your life a little bit more brighter I'll try and get a couple votes in there.
I probably will never play again either, but I do have RL friends who do and I'll vote for them. Good to see Jagex coming around.
Thanks guise, and I know what you mean. I ragequit when they got rid of Wildy, so this is mostly for the principle of it lol.
Oh lord. I voted along with all 11 of my accounts. This would improve the 6 hours I play everyday by so much metal, how often do you play, and what's your username?
Haven't played in years, and don't really every plan on playing like I used to. But definitely having free trade back will be great, even with all the 'dangers' or whatever bullshit they claimed for taking it away. Thank you for showing me this.
Coolio, my username is Hellmo34. 85 combat, 21 defense, 62 attack, 86 HP, 52 prayer, 85 mage, 99 str, 75 range. What's yours? And hell yeah guys, this would be awesome.
I set up a macro to keep clicking the VOTE YES button. You don't even need an account which is probably why JaGeX said not even a million votes will do it. I think I'll have to keep my macro running over night today.
I was a boss at that game. Getting rid of free trade and taking away the old wildy detracted from the fun. I might check it out again if they bring it back. Ill vote.
I will happily vote as many times as I can until I get bored, but I need to ask a few questions, mainly because I only played this game once... Whats so good about Free Trade and the Old Wilderness? Whats the difference between it now and then? Either way, Imma vote now.
The old wilderness was intense; back before even the wildy ditch, players could rush in and out as they pleased, and if the limit gets removed; players can stand outside of the wildy and sell the PvPers food, so they don't have to run back to the bank. The trade limit being removed also allows bank runners; another way to make some extra money, or skill train.
Alright, there has been some news on this. Referendum I think it's definitely coming back. I've been told by two of my insanely devoted to RS real life friends that it's confirmed to be coming back on New Year's. I'll post sauce soon.
Things seem to be going extremely well. The economy will go back to player created street prices like the whip being 1m and all the prices will go down so much making 5m actually being a good deal of money. Image - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting Can't wait until Valentines Day, first time I've said that.
Prices won't drop that drastically from players making street prices. Jagex doesn't control prices directly from the grand exchange, it's all player controlled. It's not going to be 1mil. The reason it went up is all the inflation that the economy has over time. Also, i don't think Jagex has started too much physical development on changing things theyll need to like quests, although I'm sure theyve brainstormed possibilities. I really can't think of a date for it to come, some say around fall 2011, some say February and march. Free trade I wouldnt think would take any changes in quests or such. Maybe a few lines of dialogue. The question is if they are releasing free trade and wilderness at the same, which would seem more probable, but I'd rather not have it happen. Honestly, it is possible to happen in January but unlikely. Earliest date it could happen I'd think would be mid january, that's if they have all the development already done. The reason I think that they haven't done too much development was because of the type of vote they had, it seemed like a confirmation that they should start development; and they wouldn't just finish everything then ask if they should release it.
