Description: File share description: What was once a thriving Forerunner settlement, is now a bloodstained battleground. [Forged for 4v4 Team Slayer]. Now for a more in depth description. Based on the style and feel, of previous Halo multiplayer maps, I wanted to create something that brought back the feeling of previous Halo combat, pretty much meaning, bringing back some vehicles (2 Warthogs, 5 mongooses [mongeese?], and 1 ghost). The map is roughly the size of Valhalla from Halo 3, so it could be excellent for any game type (even though support has NOT been added for all game types as of yet). This map has been submitted to the Forgetacular contest for Team Slayer, so support for other gametypes hasn't been added, although I do plan to add additional support once the contest has ended. Even though I hate hearing criticism, and am very bad at taking it (even if it makes sense) please leave as much as you see fit, and I'll do my best to adhere to it. Thank you. Weapons on map: 6 DMRs 4 Needle Rifles 2 Sniper Rifles 1 Rocket Launcher 1 Shotgun 2 Needlers 1 Plasma Launcher 4 Plasma Pistols 2 Plasma Repeaters 2 Magnums Additional screenies:
Not bad man just try to include some more pictures. From what I can tell you should maybe add a few more structures because it looks a little bit too open.
First off, some parts of the map a bit too open for pedestrian movement around two Warthogs. Now, because of the map's level design, the minimal cover you added might be enough to protect against Warthogs. Still, with the raised bases peppered around the map Team A could easily keep covering fire on Team B, who would be hard pressed to get to Team A's "base" and drive them out. Team B might just go into another base, but that causes shoddy/stale gameplay, as neither team can effectively purge the other from their encampment. I don't know what power weapons you've added onto trhe map (please add that to the description), but locating them all outside of the "bases" would go a long way towards keeping this situation from ever happening. One more thing: No, this isn't a 4v4 map. It doesn't matter what you say or what you call it. This simply is not the type of map that could support four-on-four slayer combat. First off, if a team has the Ghost and their Warthhog, they'll only have one guy on the ground who's able to do combat within bases. Yes, other members could exit their vehicle, but that would go against the entire point of having them in the first place. Also, the good aspects of gaining control of the enemy's Warthog would be non-existant, since it would take an entire team to use both Warthogs, leaving noone able to battle campers in the bases. Overall thoughts: Keep power weapons outside of the bases. Add additional gametypes. A map like this would do excellently with BTB Flag/Bomb/Territories. Ever played Burial Mounds? This map should play just as well based on its design. Take away one-three Mongooses. They're almost useless vehicles whose only purpose is to transport players. Based on the design of this map, you should be able to get around just fine without that many. Change this to a BTB map. Change the description to that of a BTB map. I'm sorry, but this map cannot work with eight players. Cheers, HarisSales.
First off, I have to say that is the most in-depth feedback I've received, thank you. And, well, it is probably going to go into effect, I just wish I would've known to submit this here before I submitted it to the contest =\. But meh, whatever . Thanks again HarisSales.
