Roundabout Welcome to the completely revamped version of Roundabout! After a few playtests and some helpful reviews from the Testers Guild, I have re-posted with a much better, more infantry based design. The warthogs, ghosts, and mongeese (oh My!) have been replaced by 2 neutral ghosts, and there is a lot more cover on the ground, making the ghosts more of a power weapon than transportation. Grenade launchers have also been added to counter the ghosts, and they were proven effective the very first match we played. Roundabout is at its heart a 4 team map, with 4 bases and most of the power weapons neutral to all of them. While 6 v. 6 games fit well, honestly I feel 4 teams fits the map much better. If this is your first time playing, the map is basicly 4 bases, 2 of each type, with 4 courtyards between them and a central basin and wall connected to all 4 bases. Roundabout is inversely symmetrical, that is to say that there is symmetry, but it has been flipped. Weapon list: -2 snipers-1 spare clip -2 shotguns-1 spare clip -2 grenade launchers-3 shots each -1 rocket-1 spare clip-180 second respawn time -6 DMR's -2 Needle Rifles -2 plasma repeaters -2 assault rifles -2 ghosts Favorite Gametypes: Team slayer works great here, but multiflag and 3-plots are fun as well. Most testing has been done on Slayer though, so other gametypes are only expected to be good. Ok, enough text-Pictures: Overview: Red is top, Blue bottom, Orange right, Green left Ghost courtyard between Red and Orange bases Grenade Launcher courtyard between Blue and Orange bases New Red base exterior New Red base interior, one way shield is now gone Green base ground level Red base from Orange Thanks to: -Bones 153 for helping me to set up tests -The Unseen Force for the great Testers Guild review -many other testers I mostly met through Bones -Soul Slasher for reminding me that I need to update my posts/ for taking interest in my maps. Well, thats all for now. If you want to test this or any of my maps, just leave a comment or PM me. My Gamertag is Flying Shoe ILR (all that is different is the spaces) and I am usually on at about 7 P.M. most nights. So then... Catch you on the flip side Forge Hub.
Cool looking map, I've yet to play it but I like the use of water and rocks. Maps that have natural pieces mixed in with the structures are usually my favorites. Looks fun to play, will get back after a few games.
Thanks for the Dl! I try to not let any of my maps become just a mass of grey, whether through natural features or just interesting use of colors and geometry. Reply back when you have tested, or even just after a fly through.
I think you guys were about to play this map right as I had to leave. Too bad, because it looks pretty sick. I think CTF would be a blast (assuming your flags won't reset as soon as they hit the ground ). The water hole in the center is a refreshing use of H20 compared to other maps that use it. Bases are solid. Let me know if you're interested in co-forging a map sometime.
Downloaded. I'll take a Forge through and hopefully we can test it soon (perhaps even tonight?). I would love to see 3 Plot on this map.
Thanks guys! I will be getting on very soon so hopefully we can test. I have wanted to try both CTF and 3-Plots for a while. I really want to try a game of 4 teams of 3, but I know that will be difficult.
Hey I remember playing on this map yesterday and I have to say it was really fun. I liked the center structure and what you did with the structures on each side. The rocks added a nice touch as well. I am interested to see how CTF work on this map. Maybe next time we could try that.
