Rooms is a map designed on Rat's nest with an emphasis on control game types. It is meant for team games with an elimination of spawn camping. Both teams have their own room that is completely isolated were they spawn. In this room is a small stockpile of weapons as well as four transporters that will take players to any of the first four rooms. These four rooms are mirrored each other, and allow some inter fire. In each of these four rooms is a two-way transporter linking to the center room. There are also large amounts of hidden weapons that you will have to use skill to obtain. If you have a favorite weapon, you may want to learn were it spawns and how to get it. This map is only compatible with Territories, King of the Hill, Slayer, and Oddball game types. First off nice post. Secondly the weapon caches may not be a good idea cuz they encourage camping in those spots (kinda ironic). Teleporters also sometimes encourage camping a little becuz when you come out you're a little disorientated.
Thanks. If by weapon cache you mean the pile of weapons, those are in the bases of the teams, which can't be accessed unless spawned. In other words, once you leave that room, you only come back when you die, and the enemy can't get there at all. I do know that there will be teleporter camping, but I figure it won't be too different from camping around corners, and there are multiple teleporters per room.
I like the teleporter between rooms idea. Sounds like a fun map. My biggest recommendation is that you get rid of hidden weapons, it gives too much of an advantage to people who have played the game more often and maps should teach the player as they are playing, the player shouldn't have to go out of there way to find hidden weapons. I hope that your power weapons are in accessable, but dangerous, and fairly open areas(the rocket corridor on "The Pit" is a bad example of power weapon placement).
I am glad to see that someone has done something with Rat's Nest. However, there doesn't seem to be much to the map, it is kinda sparse. Also I see you have weapons placed in bulk, not a smart idea. But at least after all it is on Rat's Nest. - Brute Captain
