Rink Wars My third map. Ever since Avalanche came out I've wanted to make a map like this. And now I have. Only through patience, a lot of patience, and a little skill with interlocking was I able to create this death arena. Nearly every object is interlocked. It was planned as a map with two bases connected by a long hall, with the whole feel of being closed in or trapped. I realized early on that I would not have enough resources to create it to the scale desired, so teleporters between each base seemed the way to go. It isn't exactly symmetrical, but it isn't exactly asymmetrical either. "Semi-symmetrical?" I don't know, I guess that is asymmetry... But, I've tried to make everything as balanced as possible, including teleporter locations. Even though it was created on one of the largest maps, Rink Wars is in no way a large map. More than six players is probably too many. More players would create a much faster paced game. I suppose it depends on your personal preference whether that would be fun or not. Supports most gametypes. I would recommend NOT playing gametypes with neutral objectives, as there is no real "center" of the map. Though, if you still want to give them a try, the neutral objective spawn is just in front of the two-way teleporter in the smaller base. It takes just slightly longer to reach that one, so I put it there. Weapon set includes: - Shotgun for each base - Rocket Launcher for each base(no spare ammo) - Magnums - Spikers - Battle Rifle - Brute Shots - Carbine - SMGs - Needlers Equipment: - Bubble Shields - Frag, Plaz, and Spike nades More screenies. Halo iceskating roks!! Though people might camp on the teleporters, but other than that, nice rink. I'm gonna test and tell you how it went l8er. Good job.
There are only two bases. And thanks. I have another map in the works, though it is being made in Foundry. I may try a version two of this, possibly try and make it more true to the original concept.
This map looks amazing. I love the two bases with the beautiful sheild door things for the roof. I love the tunnel, and it looks like a real strong point for CTF and assualt variants. Maybe an extra tunnel might do a little good? I know you might not have the money/resources bt maybe it could work...
I suggest taking out the rocket, it's such a small map to have that weapon. The idea is very creative. The game play looks good with Fiesta and plays like "Sapphire". Some parts may be sloppy though and I wished you took out the teleporters and just stuck to the hallway idea. Good job.
