First Test: VIP Spawning Is the VIP always the first to spawn (ie. will he/she always spawn at an initial spawn point)? - Is there a way to reliably spawn the VIP in a specific place? - Is there a way to reliably respawn a VIP in a specific place?
I could help too. Do you have a plan for working on that VIP thing? I'd recommend making a map on Foundry because the floor tiles can help you place spawn points really accurately. You can also use respawn area objects or hill objects to make sure things are equidistant from one specific spot. I'm sure you guys already know that the game wants to spawn you near your teammates and away from enemies. I'd bet that the VIP respawn is just like any other player respawn in that it follows the same criteria for determining the spawn location. But I'd definitely be interested in finding out if the VIP is the first player spawned at the start of the round. I bet the VIP is at least selected before players are spawned. Otherwise, you'd spawn with an AR and then lose it for the Magnum when the game chooses you as the VIP. Offhand, I'd say not without forcing all players of a given team to spawn there. However, we haven't started reverse engineering yet.
I would also like to participate. I am very adept in mathematics. I have more of a rant than a really question to solve, but do you all notice how the spawns in Halo 3 are much worse than the spawns in Halo 2. Many games have I been heading in one direction toward the enemy when their teammate respawns very close behind me. Then I suddenly have two threats to worry about, from the front and back. This has happened numerous times during matchmaking and I'm wondering why this problem didn't occur in Halo 2. It isn't really something we can investigate because we can't see the spawns in Halo 2 like we can in Halo 3, but it is something for thought. What is causing the problem? Is it the specific Halo 3 respawn system and how it determines where it places you? Or is it just the way the spawns are clustered in certain areas? Anyone else notice this problem?
I was wondering what exactly I could be doing seeing as im grounded anything you need me to do minus doing something over xbox live ill do
Its impromptu... Beta is in charge of it... I believe the VIP spawn testing was a failure... there is no way to spawn a VIP in a specific spawn point... sorry guys... NEXT TEST??
Hay, i'd love to help. as for qualifications, i'm in 9th grade, and am really good at math and science. P.S. BetaWaffle is already on my friends list (if it makes a difference)
I agree with AZN I helped on some of the test and just about everytime there was a VIP in a different area
I'm gonna give you guys some extra warning this time. The next test session is going to be at ~4:00 PM Monday, December 31. If anyone that wants to participate has a problem with that time, post or contact me. Also, hopefully I'll be done with my second Mass Effect playthrough by then. Some of Test #1 is still outstanding. Test #2: Vehicle Respawn Times How long after a vehicle is blown up does it respawn? Test #3: General Respawn Area Tests A It's 1:02 AM, I'll post more about these tests when said test time is closer.
4:00 PM EST I think you can see someone's timezone in their profile (Local time, compare it to your time).
