Background I have played around in Forge before but this is the first time I sat down to make a playable level. The main purpose in designing this map was to put some elements in place that I personally thought to be enjoyable. I enjoy the idea of chokepoints however at the same time I like to find a way out quickly. I also tried to keep certain weapons out of reach unless you have the proper armor ability to reach them. Since the map looks like certain forge elements are just phased into the ground I decided the brief back story would be that on this particular Halo, no maintenance has been done and this facility has had a millennium to be reclaimed by nature. Map Aspects Two spawn zones up in the hills protecting spawners with one way shields. Two sniper nests, one next to each spawn, only accessible with Jet Packs that cannot see the enemy nest or spawn. Littered throughout are neutral spawns protected by terrain so other neutral spawns cannot have Line of Sight. The shotgun is in a central location with one way in but three ways out. Two man cannons on either side of the dish launch you up right on top of a rocket launcher. Snipers may be up high but are not protected! A turret faces each nest to keep those pesky elite snipers on their toes, not to mention worrying about rockets coming their way. The satellite dish is collecting the energy from other relay stations on the Halo. What powers will this energy bring the player? Can the player find the energy sword hidden in the map? Also, I turned a goof into a map element. An exploding falcon provides the excitement of loud booms and rumbles to liven things up. This may not be an "aesthetically pleasing" but I was focused more on team slayer game play than geometric synchronicity. Don't pull punches because I'm a Forgehub n00b! Thank you!
