O hello thar. Some of you might have seen me doing some testers guild stuff, and some of you might remember my first map, Regime. This is an extension of both; the result being a map that's the spiritual successor to my first and also one that's been tested dozens of times for most gametypes. Here's an overview.

    • Suits 4-12 players, does not having starting spawns for 16 since I'm not optimistic about the results.
    • Runs all Slayer, KOTH, Oddball, Territories and Headhunter gametypes, and should also support One Bomb Assault.
    • Power weapons on the map include the Concussion Rifle (hi Stevo), Sniper Rifle and Gravity Hammer. But you can find plenty of other goodies too.
    • Blue team spawns at the bottom, Red team spawns up top. It's a bit like Construct except FUBAR.
So, for those of you who wish to read further, I have some screenshots! And a weapons list.

    Weapons
    8 DMRs - 30 seconds - 2 spare clips
    4 Plasma Grenades - 60 seconds
    2 Plasma Rifles - 30 seconds
    2 Plasma Pistols - 60 seconds
    1 Needler - 60 seconds - 2 spare clips

    1 Shotgun - 90 seconds - 2 spare clips - Slayer only
    1 Concussion Rifle - 90 seconds - 2 spare clips
    1 Sniper Rifle - 120 seconds - 2 spare clips
    1 Gravity Hammer - 120 seconds

Many thanks to The Psycho Duck, The One Hawk, Stevo, NIBBLES, and a whole bunch of other testers for helping me test this map out. Everyone was satisfied with it, apart from Stevo and Hawk who want a mass culling of Concussion Rifles... :p

Sorry this post isn't as long as my normal ones, I've just got a lot of stuff to do tonight and this map has been on the table for about a month. You should be glad I released it at all. :p But trust me, hours of testing went into this, so it's well worth a download. Peace out.

I remember play testing this map. It's a very good map and perfect size. Aesthetics are nice and it's a well built structure. I only played slayer variants and king of the hill. Slayer was solid but nothing mind blowing. However, KOTH on this map is amazing. I think the multi-tier really gives that whole game type another angle.

    8/10 Nice job.

    Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This could posssibly be my favorite competitive forge map in Reach. I just love the structure of the map and the gameplay. Jetpacking is a blast, but all the other armor abilities work great as well. The map has elements from construct and lockout, but definitely has it's own look and feel that, along with the awesome gameplay, sets it (in my eyes) way above other symmetrical competitive maps being released by some of the most respected forgers around. It was great giving you feedback, and seeing it all incorporated into the map for the next test. THIS is the type of map I wanna play and the type that more people should make, as opposed to enclosed, symmetrical, MLG-esque maps. I really loved testing this, and I hope I'll get to play it with you some more. Easily a 10/10.

Wow, this map looks amazing. It looks very well done. I gave this map a walk through, and frame rate is very clear and no z-fighting. I will give gameplay feedback when i have time, but at the moment this map is great.

Hey man I just got to take a look at Repression. It's an awesome map, and I can't wait to play on it with my family. I really liked how simple Repression was and it just added to the Constuct/Lockout feeling, but yet it kept it's own style.
(As Psychoduck said.) YOu have good, and I hope to see more maps from you in the future.

    Cheers!

I should also probably let everyone know that a full symmetrical version is in the works and will be released eventually, probably after my exams and in between coursework. It looks sweet and big enough to support BTB. :)

The map is very interesting, it has a layout that for some reason reminds me of Construct, even though it was an asymmetrical map, but it's smaller and seems like combat would be more like Guardian or Lockout, because of the three power weapons.

All the lifts give great flow to the map and really counteract camping, even though getting the power weapons and moving to the top is the best idea.

I'm concerned about the Sniper Rifle spawn, I think it is in a location where it is already extremely powerful and otherwise doesn't serve the purpose of adding map flow to that specific area because it's already the place to be. I ran into the same problem on Marauder where the Sniper Rifle was placed in a location that was very powerful and easy for that player and his team to bunker down. In the end, I had to move it away from the top platform and down a level. By placing your Sniper Rifle at the top level, you're not increasing map flow, but ceasing it because whoever gets the Sniper Rifle there isn't going to leave that location.

I'd suggest moving it in front of the yellow strut in the middle of the image that shows the backside of the map. There, it is still contested, and still not too difficult for a player to get it, go up one of the adjacent lifts, and go the the top.

Wow, i didn't really think about the sniper rifle placement like that. I can see what you mean; although my intention was for the sniper rifle to make the position dominant, the whole map already flows there so there's not really much point. I have exams atm, but i'll have a good think about the sniper rifle spawn after them. :)

Announcing my attempt to do an official V2 of this map! Expect more weapon balance, better objective gameplay and some slight geometry changes. And maybe a CTF mode that isn't balls... also announcing that I have the template for a BTB version of this, which is essentially two of the map stacked on top of each other. It's gonna be a hoot!
