I really like the look of the map. The layout looks pretty unique. I'd like to get you on my friends list so me can test. I'll add you tommorrow. Also, you should add your leaderboard location so others can find you and DL the map. Nice video too.
The map looks great from what I can tell. Ill give it a closer look and tell ya what I think. You sound like psychoduck. Like a lot.
@Chronmeister - Thanks man, and yup I just added my campaign info there! It's a shame there isnt an easier way to access. @Xandrith - Thank you! I'll have to take your word for now haha but I'll check it out. @Kur - haha yeah man it basically took me all day to figure out how to make the video and get pictures and stuff.
Hey guys look a good map lets not comment on it. No seriously Given put so much time into this and deserves more attention. The map is beautiful, it plays beautiful, and his face is beautiful.
Definitely want to check it out, just by watching the video I feel it that it could be a little large for 1v1 pending on the spawn but the sniper will compensate for that
@purely fat - Thank you very much! I put a lot of detail into forge and try to make everything perfect. It is fantastic for people to notice! @Multi - Thanks buddy, i'm both greatful and a little creeped out! @RAYZOR 1987 - Absolutely! The map may appear a little on the large side, but it is very linear. Essentially a "U" shape. So you find a battle quicker than you may think! Especially with the teleporters. I'm very happy to see the map is generating positive energy!
At first i was like, "wow thats basic just a U, there is no decision making, maps dont usualy have players running in circles not seeing eachother." then i whatched a game on my map in theater and was like "oh he kinda has a point" lol good job man, now you got me remaking my map to make it more linear! dont worry it will be nothing like urs haha
@Xandrith - Not possible. Psychoduck doesn't sound Minnesotan at all. @Given to Fly & MultiLockOn - I like the clean forging too. The main issue I have with your maps is the lack of color contrast. It throws off my depth perception. Also, the abundance of dark pieces makes it more difficult to see players. I'm looking forward to getting some games on here to see how the gameplay holds up.
Wow really digging the look of this map and how no concrete blocks were used! Love the simplistic and clean forging, I can't wait to try it out!
haha thats what I was telling them, they just dont believe me XD orientation and depth perception can be created by contrast!
I understand the concerns, but the only time you'll think the map is a little too dark is because of Awash's lighting glitch where it takes a moment for the canvas to lighten up, but that is uncontrollable. Honestly there is still contrast, not black and white contrast, but it is there. The floor is the light grey and the walls are that copper green. Personally I think its as easy to see, if not easier than all concrete maps. Maybe that's just me! In fact it seems like it is just me haha
There shouldn't be an all concrete map either, contrast comes from using both. Thats the point they are making.
Haha my thoughts exactly. I don't want to come across as defensive, but its hard when people can't get past a small detail they believe compromises the entire map, especially when it is how we've gotten by for the last 8 years. If you think about it, we've never needed to have two contrasting colors make up our maps before. Sandbox was all one color: Brown. Forge World was all one color: Grey. Forge Island was all one color: White. Not to mention the forge preview we recieved from the Halo 5 Beta, all the objects were white as well. (Or team colors, depending how you label each item.) But the point remains the same. Single color pieces. The color contrast shouldn't be an issue when judging a map. Period.
