Download Link: UPDATED: Relic v5 Map Summary: A very accurate remake of the Halo2 map Relic. Supported gametypes of Version 3 include Slayer, 1bomb and 1flag. This is my second map my first map was a remake of Rats Nest named "Atrium". Things to note about this map is that there is a healthpack located in the offensive base, the focus rifle replaces the covenant beam rifle and needle rifles replace the carbines. Also the front ramps don't appear in asymmetric gametypes such as 1bomb or 1flag but they will be there for symmetrical gametypes such as slayer or FFA I also made this map in the gulch as it helps with the colour pallet and is the only appropriate area which would allow for good gameplay. Besides the geometry is awesome. i loved the original map and i think its great that you made a remake. I have to test it out thought but hopefully ill get back to you

Umm...aren't you supposed to do this before you release the map? Don't get me wrong, this looks like a stellar remake but I'd rather not waste my time on a possible broken map.
Sorry I should of made that more clear. I've tested this map 4vs4 and 8vs8 but not everyone is going to have the same playstyle so I like to see multiple films to make sure everything is perfect. Also for me to take some clips and make an action montage
Great map Bk, Loved playing on it with you, Just hope you fixed the flag capture points Other than that, a few more rocks by the offense spawn (more like h2) would do alot for aesthetics
Very impressive. I remember playing the hell out of this in halo 2. Man that seems such a long time ago! You should explain the satellite dishes in the background. I found the Irony in both maps being on the actual halo ring.
This brought back some good memories last night man. It was familiar enough to pick up right away, and still different enough to have its own unique feel. I dig that you included the ridge and little cave too. I used it a bunch on both offense as a safe, alternate route and on defense to prevent those trying to take a safe, alternate route lol. The D-base is spot on, too. I didn't really have a chance to notice though, but did you manage to create a switch for the teleporter? that'd definitely be something to look into if you have the budget. Hell you could even set it up for Invasion where there would be a super quick hill capture at the Attack base that maybe unlocks after just a few seconds, then place a bomb right next to a plant point right at the d-base tele that arms immediately, and would gate/unblock the teleporter for the attackers. The final phase would naturally be CTF. Could be pretty cool.
i liked this version of the map but i have one complaint. you should of made the people that spawn by the crashed ship by the beach and the forruner base near the back but i give it a 8/10
I originally had the base more or less like that but that area of the gulch was too narrow for the sniper tower and the base structure and the rocket path. Also the cave allows a good route for the offensive team. So the current ordination is best for gameplay. Besides the background matches Halo 2 with the Ring I'll be adding some actionshots later. I'll look into designing a switch though as I have the budget to do this.
Thank You. The final version v5 I now have the final version of this map finished that now has a working 2-way portal system. It's a really easy mechanic, in that I've placed a shield door in front of the portal in the defenders base with two plasma batteries on top of it. This means that attackers can't simply shoot the barrels for 20feet away, so in order for them to open the portal they must be right beside it and either throw a nade or shoot the barrels. This system is very reliable as lag has no effect as it's such a simple mechanic that works well. Also I've added soft kill barriers for those that play the map with jetpacks even though I strongly recommend that you don't play this with jetpacks as an equipment choice. Anyway I feel this is the closest i can get to a true remake that keeps most of the aesthetics the same while maintaining good gameplay, So that's the final version. If any of you guys want to alter the map for zombies or anything feel free as theres aroung $1500 left or so. Note: I've been getting some messages saying I've stole these maps. Not the case as I've just recently changed my GT to "HWM BlacKnight" Also have two more maps to post later. Anyway Enjoy this and thanks for all the feedback.
