Red Dead Redemption, **** Yeah!In order to understand how truly wonderful Red Dead Redemption is, you've got to understand how things in the wild west of Red Dead works. Screw the storyline, screw the campaign, play Free Roam. The campaign is a helluva lot better than Free Roam, but when you've got at least two or even ten other friends with Red Dead, then play Free Roam with them. You can choose between like fifty characters that are sadly not customizable to play as in Free Roam, and you unlock mounts along the way that become increasingly faster and with more stamina. Also like Call of Duty, there are challenges that you can complete online within Free Roam, or Matchmaking (Which can be accessed from Free Roam). Such challenges are either killing a number of enemies in Matchmaking, or killing 5 birds in Free Roam. The only major differences between Campaign and Free Roam are that in Campaign you've got missions, money, and the law isn't as forgiving. In Free Roam you can basically **** around around all you want, and the only punishment is death. Though I really wish you could skin animals in Free Roam like you can in Campaign. Now back to Free Roam, after you level up you can earn new weapons, mounts, characters, challenges, and titles. Leveling up is easy, you've got yourself an experience bar that goes up every time you kill an enemy or civilian. Another quicker way to earn experience by the thousands is by raiding one of the several bandit camps in Red Dead, or by completing challenges. This is the best game you could ever get dude... Anything you want to do in the Wild West, this game's got it.
tl;dr, its a wild west GTA4 But you shouldn't trade both games for it, maybe the game that you never see yourself playing again in the future once you get RDR. One day you'll regret trading both games in.
This game is the definition of open world. The world is frankly huge with something interesting to do in every corner of the world. Random missions happen all the time that you can participate in, such as saving a woman being raped outside a bar, assisting bandits in robbing a random stage coach, and even being pulled into a father's quest to free his kidnapped daughter. There is so much to do in this game. It's got a great story, hundreds of side quests, dozens of animals species to hunt, and one of the best multiplayers out right now. There is no reason not to get this game.
The ending was great. I couldn't believe that Spoiler John Marston died in the end and that you play as his son for freeroaming when the game is over. Holy **** that was a great twist on things.
the ending was HORRIBLE! well, only the one part. i like John over Jack. not only does he look cooler and ruggeder, his voice sounds much better. but oh well. plus, Jack acts like a hardcore cowboy and its only been 3 years, like wtf?! doesnt make much sense but oh well. GREAT game anyways! my new favvy!
The world in this game is perfection. GTA: San Andreas being my former favorite sandbox game, this one takes the cake. Its really superbly rendered, actually beautiful countryside. Sometimes in the middle of the of a mission, I'll be stunned by a vista and have to stop and look. I wish there was in game screenshots old kodak brown box at the general store maybe???????
