I have loved UT99 since its days on the computer and on the PS2 but now I feel like the maps could make their way to the Halo Universe. Mostly I will try to construct ways to make the Slayer based maps first and then work from there towards, CTF and so on. I believe I could do some of these solo but having a co-forger to help with spawning and design might will for sure make things faster and easier. This road of mine will take a long time to do thus if anyone is interested I am willing to partner up with someone to recreate these amazing maps and showcase them here on Forgehub for everyone to see!
You know about my Morbias map and I was also thinking about recreating Liandri, Deck 16, Hyperblast, and Curse. Facing Worlds would be cool as well but the LoS would be horrible.
Force Battle Rifles as primary on Facing Worlds. It's really the DMR I think that makes it so you can't have any long lines of sight what so ever in maps. I guess Carbine and Light Rifle can be somewhat of an issue with LOS also but not nearly as much as the DMR. I was thinking of doing Hyperblast also, that would be a great one with low gravity zones on the outside. Doubt I will though.
The Light Rifle would be a much bigger problem than the DMR, Light Rifle owns DMR at that range. The carbine would subside with the BR, but still the LoS would be too long b/c no one would switch out there rifles with anything else until they got into one of the bases. This map can be pulled off with a lot of rocky terrain and spires along the two direct routes. But it is also linear as hell.
Overall I like the ideas guys. Oh Fenix I havent checked them out yet but I will soon, but overall I am planning on remaking some if not all to near perfection if possible but otherwise I will DL the one's you have made and then start making ones aside from them. I think it will be very interesting to see where this could go because honestly UT99 is one of the greatest FPS games out there in the existance of FPS IMO. At times I still play it to have a fun time even the combat music gets me pumped.
