hey im working on a map and it has doors which will utill is a sort of key system. i want it to have a key that you have to find, but after a while people will just head straight to its spawn. if you place multiple keys down, can you make 1 spawn at a different position each round?
Depending on what you mean as "key". If you're going to be using a Min/Max switch it wouldn't be able to work, because you would have to adjust the run time settings to make it random. Now this was an Idea I had with a map of mine too, with weapon placements, where you would have the run time minimum and maximum of a single gun to 1, and have a couple placed around the map, so that it would randomly respawn. I wasn't able to tets it out though, but I thought it would work. The best solution to this, depending on the map you make, is have some randomly spawning walls every round instead, so that instead of the switch's placement being move, the path to the place would change.
something like a bubble sheild or a power drain is what i would use as a key. about what you said about the randommly spawning walls, doesnt that use the same principle as the random spawing 'key'
Regenerators can work for switch keys. Place several on the map and make them all spawn at start [No] and respawn time [180]. Then set the run-time minimum to 1. At the start of each round, only one of the keys will spawn. The rest will spawn after three minutes, but there's no way around that.
