I get tapped for posts like that... I forged through the map. The first and big thing that stuck out at me was too much merging of objects to make structure look like forerunner architecture, from objects that are forerunner architecture already. Does that make sense?
if you have a problem understanding what the pictures are showing you i have a video up for those who cant get the picture then vid will help you P.s. its a shame death star dosent forge anymore [br][/br]Edited by merge: it dose make scene however it lacks any of the more interesting architecture seen in the halo games have. so you still have to make then yourself do you understand what i meen? the object are forerunner looking but none of them are forerunner built. that part is you the forgers hands also things like that are not noticed once other players are introduced to the battle... i have seen this in the maps that get into MM all the time thanks for the feedback everyone
This was a very good idea to recreate that structure and then you actually made a good map around it too. The frame rate is a little problematic in my opinion. I know the complex forerunner pieces are causing a lot of it but they are obviously more integral to the map's theme. Have you considered deleting some of the rocks? Aside them being my least favorite part of the map aesthetically, the way those multi-faceted pieces merge is probably causing a bit of the lag. I know they block lines of sight and make for some interesting caves, but have you thought of using artificial pieces in the same place? If you have found the lag not to be a problem then no biggie but that's just my aesthetic/practical suggestion. Overall very cool map.
I sort of agree about removing the rock caves. I didn't even know they were there any of the times I played on the map. They are so disjointed and far away from the focal points that they really serve no purpose. Some people have said they don't like the look of the Forerunner tower, and I can see where they are coming from. However, I hardly noticed it at all during game-play because of how far above you the no-so-good-looking parts were. It may look better if it were done a little differently, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. The game-play on this map is fantastic and fun- that's what counts.
