It doesn't say Forgehub is affiliated with 343i in the footer of the site so I'm wondering if we're affiliated at all :/
I don't see an issue with modded/glitched maps/gametypes being posted. I think that under the circumstances Halo 4's extremely restrictive custom options present, people need to mod just to play their favorite gametype from the past 10 years. As long as they are posted exactly like the current maps, in a neat and professional manner, then I don't see the harm. 343 are well aware their pathetic excuse for Custom Games is forcing people to mod, so a forging community allowing modded maps wouldn't come as a surprise. Of course, the rules say otherwise, and we must adhere to those until they are changed, if they are ever changed.
very true... I'm actually in the middle of modding a custom Flood gametype just to get that disgusting Lime Green mind control color **** off of my screen and allow weapons to be placed on map the old way.
It would be nice if there were an organized forum for decent modded content. ForgeHub is definitely a prime candidate for something like that. It would take a good deal of moderation, and it would have to come with a disclaimer regarding liability, but it could help get the customs community hopping again. At the very least it would be cool if there was a list of safe modded variants. Been looking for no-ordnance-waypoints/no-instant-respawn for a while now. Might have to learn hex lol
For No Ordnance waypoints, the modder told me to use his custom gametype generator... I asked where it is so I'll let you know when he answers. For No instant Respawn... I'll PM you the fileshare it's on.
Not sure if it's allowed to mention se7ensins.com on forgehub, but if that's what you mean I'd have to disagree, we don't need a modding section on forgehub or anything like that, leave that to the modding forums/sites. Forgehub has to stick to it's roots, but allowing modded maps and/or gametypes would seem reasonable in Halo 4. Halo 3 or Halo: Reach didn't really need modded content since there was plenty of customization. Halo 4 threw it out of the window, I mean come on, they take tons of gametypes out of the game, and then ALSO remove half the options in the gametypes they leave in the game? What did they expect would happen? Gametypes work the same as in Reach, but the gametypes were never really modded back then because there was no need to do so. As for modded maps, those have been around since Halo 3, and if it doesn't have a negative impact on the gameplay, I personally don't see the problem with them. Oh, and for the map not deleting from the hard drive, that's a Halo 4 bug, it's happened to me a few times with a few normal maps. Exit the file browser and go back in, or if that doesn't work restart the xbox. Modded maps CAN'T be modded to stick on your xbox, that's just stupid.
I have both separately - I want to combine them lol I want to try a no-ordnance-waypoint version of the dust-up gametype, but instant respawn is bugging me. With both mechanics disabled/fixed, dropping power-ups as ordnance wouldn't be so awkward. And weapons could be dropped the same way and it would work just fine. Even gives you a broader spawn timer range. Well, if they were going to allow modded content it would make more sense to separate it. There are disclaimers excusing FH from every possible liability plastered all over the place. I don't see why they couldn't disclaimer away any issues. The only real problem I could see is if somebody at some point signed a contract with 343, but I don't even see 343 listed under the 'Friends of FH' section on the main page. Bungie is there, but not 343.
if there is modded content posted here, please organize it into a separate maps section, so as not to be confused with non-modded ones. thanks
