    Hi.

I've read a number of really helpful threads that explain how the various aspects of the spawning system function. I want to make sure I have it all down correctly, though.

If I place a weak respawn zone or an anti-respawn zone and set it to red team, will that ensure that blue team never (or almost never) spawns in those zones?

I have a ~rectangular CTF map with a flag stand on each of the endpoints. I plan to place weak respawn zones at the "home" areas, and anti respawn zones over the remaining area up to the midpoint of the map. It would look like this:

    (red flag)[WEAK RED][ANTI RED][ANTI BLUE][WEAK BLUE](blue flag)

If I understand correctly, that will result in each team generally spawning at their own flag, but occasionally respawning in a forward area (e.g. during spawncamping or some such thing). Do I have the right idea?

    Thanks for your help!

Placing a normal respawn zone on each team's side of the map (sized correctly) and with the team color set to that team will cause all players from that team to spawn within the zone. You can further edit these things by using the flag home and flag away labels.

Ok, thanks for the tip. I went ahead and added a respawn zone for red team and blue team at their respective bases. If I understand correctly, the game will pick the most appropriate spawn point within that respawn zone (accounting for enemies and such), right?

    Yes.
A normal respawn zone influences the spawn probability for the selected teams in an area so strongly that players will always spawn there. If your map is an odd shape and you need multiple respawn zones to cover an area, it's ok if they overlap because strong zones do not overlap. The line of sight influence is actually enough to overcome the influence of a normal respawn zone in certain cases but you never really need to worry about that.
