    Quarantine

Arguably Quarantine should never have come to life. Normally when im forging a map I try not to think of the next one. I find it distracting and hindering from my current project. The other day I found myself struggling for ideas and inspiration for the map I was working on. After a few hours of forging and deleting I decided to call it a night and turned my pc on to try and sketchup some ideas. After a while I found myself designing a new map, I had broken my own rule but I didnt mind. Quarantine was spawned directly from my indecision.

My original plan for the map was to create another two similar in style and release them all as a map pack. I have recently decided against this as I have a much grander project in mind. I am now releasing Quarantine as a standalone map.

The map is a small - medium team doubles and FFA map built on Forge World. The map is heavily inspired from on of my all time favourites, Hang em High. It features a large chamber with two connecting hallway / spawn areas. Above this is another level which overlooks much of the main chamber. There is also a small tower on this level. The map is a mix between Gameplay and Aesthetics and plays very well on any small slayer gametype.

The map is fully enclosed with an elevated roof to keep the map feeling spacious. On the north and south walls are large windows with the same objective in mind. This is also the case with the west side of the roof. All of these windows help the map to feel large whilst also breaking up the all grey background that was present. The map has a nice placement of blocks and struts to break up lines of sight and has a few strategically placed power cores.

The two spawn rooms have color co-ordinated objects to aid call outs. The tower has a shield block elevator and the main chamber has a trench to aid players needing to defend themselves. Generally I am very happy with the build. Taking away the sketchup time the map only took me two hours to build. It has also needed minimal change from the test games played. The main feedback from test games is that DMR starts would be best and the Jet Pack is a very effective AA to equip.

Thank you for checking out my thread, please feel free to DL comment and Like following the link at the bottom of the thread. Thanks.

The floor levels need moar cover. Otherwise, not many people would go there. Unless, that is what you were planning.

have you played it yet? I found in every game that people went on both floors (you kinda have to) and that the cover is fine. Its a small team doubles map, the pace is fast and the kills come quickly. That is in my opinion how team doubles should play and the map supports it well

Oh, my bad. I didn't know that it was Team Doubles. If it is in the words, I probably didn't see it because I skipped right through those.

I would download it, but I don't have that luxury right now. And if I did, I wouldn't be able to play on it any time soon.

It just seems to me that it is a bigger map, because a spartan is kinda small compared to the 2x5 Bridge.

ah right, thats cool man. The dance floor is fairly spacious but the map is very centralised and travel time is minimal. It feels alot smaller than it is but is very well suited to team doubles or free for all. Thanks for the comments :)

Another great map. I like how you made an elevator out of shield doors. This map looks like it has just enough cover. I like how you didn't crowd the map with tons of aesthetics and other objects. Keep the maps coming.

This map isnt to exciting, and different. Its kinda bland, and meh. It seems like endless halways and platforms that all look the same. I dont blame you fully, as Bungie only provided us with grey and bland blocks. Aside from that I think it is very well put together, and it actually plays very nicely. Ill probably keep this map and use it for future customs. good job.
