HOLD ON. This could be a good thing. Sure it killed, the most iconic franchises in gaming history, but theoretically, this is Halo's chance to stand out from the rest, and rise back to pow...*Don't worry, Halo 6 will have sprint! - 343* *gunshot noise*
Any change of opinion after seeing the gameplay trailer? https://m.youtube.com/watch?debug_p...has_verified=1&client=mv-google&layout=mobile
while the gunplay and pacing seem fine, even if a little slower than older quake games, it is still the abilities that worries me. Some of them are going to be inherently better than others, and having an advantage off spawn is not what quake was about.
Nothing wrong with the concept. It's just a class based shooter with badass quake gameplay, which is fine in theory. Great even. The problem is that the word quake is in the title, and quake needs to be an arena shooter.
I hope the new UT doesn't do this **** (when it comes out), pretty much the last game that comes to mind that can hold the old school arena mantle.
UT4 is being developed with the community explicitly to overcome this sort of Developer - Community disparity. It's a pretty interesting take on game development, with them relying so heavily on community designers, you could almost call it a fan or community made game.
You should follow their YouTube channel. They do weekly videos where they talk about the design process of the game as they work through their Open Alpha build and towards a final product. Pretty awesome stuff. They'll talk everything from map design, modeling, art, and coding and often plug community members that have made significant contributions to the game.
Sooo... What's UT been up to these days? --- Double Post Merged, Aug 14, 2016 --- I loved Quake Live because they copy and pasted Quake 3. It was like a decently sized expansion.
