Created by Kyfion Welcome to Pyro; my second completed map in Reach. I know no one likes to read these things so I'll make it short. The map centres around a pyramid structure 4 floors high, the bottom being ground level. From the bottom centre of the pyramid, which holds a Rocket Launcher, branches 3 paths. Two go to Red and Blue Bases respectively which host a Sniper Rifle, Shotgun and a mounted turret each, while the other cuts a line down the middle of the map towards the relatively remote Purple Base which hosts a friendly Concussion Rifle and is also conveniently linked to both the Red and Blue Bases. From the back of Purple Base there is a lift chute that takes you up and over the map to the top floor of the pyramid at the expense of roughly 1/5 of your shield... if your unlucky that is. However, it's well worth the risk as you'll be transported directly onto the Energy Sword spawn, which, although relatively weak on the top floor, is devastating amongst the others. The top floor is also accessible from both the Red and Blue Bases via a long bridge stretching out and up with useful, if not odd, pieces of cover and weaponry along the way. However, before arriving at the top floor, players will have to traverse through the intricate Yellow Base which boasts an absolutely adorable plasma launcher and plasma repeater. From Yellow Base, not only can you easily access the top floor of the pyramid, but it is the only means of getting to the third floor of the pyramid, excepting of the course the occasion when players drop from the top floor down to it as means of a faster route. The third floor holds a DMR and 2 Plasma Grenades for all you super happy players out there Oh, before I forget; don't get cocky on the top floor. It may have unfettered views of the majority of the map and is unquestionably a dominant control point on the map, it lacks cover and you'll have to be strong to stay in control of it for long... like I said; don't get cocky. Finally there is only one more floor left unannounced, and that is the second floor. Yea, kinda forgot about it... it's really accessible. There is a ramp in both the Red and Blue Bases parallel to the path taking players to the bottom centre that takes them directly to the second floor which holds a Grenade Launcher and 2 Needle Rifles. Apart from that 'super-short' description, there's really nothing else to say about the map that I would urge players to give it a go despite its outwardly simplistic and ugly appearance. I myself was surprised by how well it flowed and played. All I wanted to do was to keep running around it. There's just so many things to do, things to see and try. I urge you to give it a go and be surprised by how much fun you'll have. P.s the more players THE MUCH BETTER! I like the tall tower's design, but overall the map gives me the impression that you didn't spend a whole lot of time on it. It's mostly just a bunch of narrow catwalks with little cover. It's a good start, and I can see it going somewhere with more work. I see you submitted it to the TG...did they give you any feedback? This looks the exact same as the version posted there.
They didn't give me any feedback unfortunately. I'm assuming because my previous map was tested and featured on their forgehub recap video for term 4 they'd done me enough favors; I don't blame them haha. If you read my last paragraph description you can see I've already mentioned the maps outwardly boring and bland appearance. Let me assure you I devoted many hours to this map over 2 weeks. The only reason it IS so crappy looking aesthetically is because I capped the object limit in all but two item categories and I wished to avoid framerate lag. I can assure you this is one of those maps you can apply the the old saying; don't judge a book by its cover.
