Pumphouse CREATED BY: PA1NTS Welcome to Pumphouse, my very first forge of Halo 4. An asymmetrical squad slayer map that supports up to 12 players. It also works great for flood mode. Pumphouse is an outdoor map, with some indoor settings, set just outside of the inside of the cave... There are 3 main buildings: red building, blue building and the pumphouse. The pumphouse stretches almost all the way down the middle, dividing the map in two. There are 3 hard routes through the middle. One route goes bottom mid and right under the pumphouse. One route goes high and wraps all the way around the upper part of the pumphouse, and the last route is the low ground, which is more open. There are also lots of nooks and crannies, and jump-ups. I took inspiration from High Ground, Relection, Boardwalk and the new Complex. I think the map worked out pretty good considering I started it from scratch with no layout, and it only took me a few short days to make. I'm not sure if pumphouse is a keeper, but nonetheless, a completed map for you to preview! Enjoy. *A thanks goes out to J4G3RM31ST3R, he created a thread showing me how to get screenshots done. The thread can be found by clicking on this tiny little star* Also thanks to the numerous people who tested this piece of ****. Have a nice day.
Looks really nice. I'd add some of the UNSC crates and put a few of them around for some more details and potential cover. Is the lighting on here? It does'n't look like it.
This was a fun map to play around on, the teams we had together the other night were not very equal but that did not stop me enjoying the design of the map and its layout, gameplay. I felt some of the areas were slightly to vertical or overlooked to much of the map at times but it looks like you may have fixed that issue by adding a little more structure to the map, and I do agree you could add some Scenery items to the layout to give it more theme. For your first project in Halo 4 this is a really good start, I always enjoy your maps and the concepts you come up with and I am happy to see you forge with the same style as you did in Reach, keep up the good work bud.
My initial reaction to the first pic was "oooo I like that". Looks really solid and enjoyable. The aesthetic carried throughout nicely. Feel free to invite me to test this.
Could not disagree more. The color of the map gives it that rusty feeling to it. The canvas is a cave, it just adds to the atmosphere.
glad to see the screenshot method worked for you. really clean map design! btw how is the damnation remake coming along?
I really enjoyed the games on this map. Regicide felt like it worked well. Quite frankly, I disagree with this. I think it looks pretty nice. It actually reminds me of like a sewage treatment station. Which seems like it should feel dismal, dull and decrepit which is the vibe this map puts off. And though I love the gun to death I did feel like the Binary Rifle was a bit too much.
Nah there's no dynamic lighting. It's reach style lighting at least the shades of the pieces don't change depending on where they are. That was awful. I appreciate that someone actually follows my ****. Thanks man. I'll try to remember to add you. The Damnation/Penance remake is pretty much done. It's ready for Infinity Slayer testing anyway. I can't decide on a name though. I have it narrowed down to either Hindrance, Atonement or Waterlogged. Preview up soon. We played regicide? The Binary Rifle is changed already. It will only appear in a random weapon drop in the same spot that gives you either the Sniper Rifle, Beam Rifle or Binary Rifle. So it's pretty rare that one will even spawn on a typical game.
The map was very enjoyable when I had the chance to play on it, despite our entire team getting wrecked. The entire nature and layout of the map seemed really nice and the lack of dynamic lighting did not affect the beauty of the map at all. Really looking forward to playing more games on it so throw me an invite when you can. Good luck with the map and look forward to more of your maps.
