Proximity Authors Comments Well its been a while since i have made something quite like this. For a long time now I have been stuck in a trend of creating maps which the general public like to play. After a while it gets very tiresome making things that you do not have much interest in, i.e perfect tournament style maps. I have decided to go back to my roots. I am back making my aesthically beautiful and pristinely interlocked peices of art (Key my old stuff -Killswitch, Zone 67 & Serenity Valley etc..). Proximity is my latest forge creation and possibly one of my best. Originally started as a racetrack with a large sloping hill, I quickly started having visions of a small 1 v 1 map. The idea of the map is simple, There are two elevated bases / spawn areas. To reach the other side you can either take to the enclosed and safer valley passageway, or you can risk the dangerously exposed bridge. Along with the perfect interlocking and beautifully architured roof. I have created two very interesting additions. The first of these I have named the Shield Wall. I have interlocked shield doors with fence walls creating a brand new object. This has the advantage of being a barrier object which is transparent. There is no other object that does this, apart from perhaps the window panels which are very scarce. The second new addition is an interesting lighting effect I have discovered. It is made from interlocking a Man-Cannon with a box object. It is done in such a way that the projectile effect of the Man-Cannon is not noticed but the blue glow is. The Man-Cannon itself is not visible but if you pass near the box you will be surrounded in an eery blue glow. I have designed this map mainly as a 2-4 player environment. It is a relatively small arena but there is adequate cover to maintain a high level of play. Anyway Im going to stop rambling on about it now. oh.. my god... it is beutiful! by what I read about your aesthetic map making skills of your other maps and then seeing this has made me look at all of your maps that you have made it is just... wow... great aesthetics, great interlocking, juse great everything 5/5 for sure FIRST POST on an awesome map
This map looks really good. Maybe you can post some more pics so I can see more. The interlocking on this map is very well done. The slopes were made very well and look like they will make fun gameplay. I like your "shield door walls" but they aren't the first time used. Also, what is this revolutionary lighting? The map seems like it'd be fun.

Hi guys. thanks for great comments! I would post more pics but these pretty cover it tbh. The is the main chamber with the valley and two bases. Then there are two side passageways to create more space and safer spawns. you will notice the lighting effect if you enter the valley area. Everything goes blue lol. thanks again for comments.
WOW!! this map is so good,i havnt seen many conpetitive maps with curves like that!this must of taken a long time to make with all that curvy interlocking.the gameplay looks like it would be fun . amazing map 5/5
From what i can see the interlocking looks amazing but i dont really get to see the whole lay out from the pics some more would be nice but really it looks awesome
the map does have a roof. That picture is entitled - map without the roof on. in the other pics the roof is visible.
The interlocking featured in this map is superb, as well as the geometry. Plus, the addition of the lighting affect adds to the uniqueness of your map. All in all this map deserves a happy face and a 4/5.
great map dude. That valley looks amazing! is there much more of the map other than in the pics. i love the grenade holder too!
messy, not so strightly interlocked to many shiled doors/ camping spots if your conserend with spawn camping expand the map a little more/ i saw the same problem with serenity valley
I will check this out. What have I got to lose? But I must say, nobody must have read your post because nobody has commented on how full of yourself you sound. Take it from me, complimenting yourself in your own description won't net you any additional downloads. Either way, you seem to have a decent looking map here so I will have to check it out. Might I suggest a few more pics giving a better visual representation of your work? It's hard to tell how the level is shaped and flows.
Overall, this looks like a pretty good map. I really like the layout of it, and the gameplay looks like it would really shine, except for maybe some excessive camping, which has been mentioned before. A lot of cool things are there on this map, like the shield/fence corners that remind me a little of Paragon. Although some areas are a little sloppy, and some floors look like they have a few bumps. I'll add it to my downloads but for now, you get an A-
This is an extreme map, this is getting my download for sure. I love how the floor is all bumpy, unlike all the other flat floored maps. That teleporter with the grenade in it is AWESOME! 5/5
OMG THIS LOOKS SO ESCAPABLE I AM GOING TO RANT NOW, JK JK. well NOW THIS IS MORE LIKE IT!! this is what i was lookin for, much better looking than (a) killswitch, and the terrain looks real nice. this is definetly your best work yet, and i love the fence wall cuts with the shield doors mixed in it. your respect has been returned and then some my friend. good lookn map, good lookn map. will return with gameplay thoughts. if only you hadnt caught me when the agonizing school week had started.....
That winding path underneath the bridge is pretty neat. The whole aesthetics thing is really working out well for this map, and it looks pretty well-made, geometry-wise. The only possible standing issues would probably be weapons placement and spawn issues, but I'll get back to you once this is downloaded.

Visually your map looks amazing. It may sound odd, but its the ceiling of the map that really makes it stand out. Too often you'll find yourself staring up at a boring, flat ceiling, often due to item limit constraints. The map looks very well put together, every box looks neatly placed. From the looks of the size of the map, I think its best built for 1v1 matches like you said in the OP. 2v2 would probably create predictable spawning issues, which is caused simply by the maps size, and really can't be avoided. I'm going to have to run through this one.
Wow. This is simply beautiful. So beautiful I had to write a review before I even did a forge through. The interlocking is WONDERFUL, I especially like the fence wall + shield door, haven't seen that combo for quite some time. The whole thing is just genius IMO. I'll come back and leave feedback again after a few rounds. EDIT: Does it support all gametypes? What would you recommend?
