yo rifle Just so you know, I made a comment in your "ods3" post, it was a suggestion for a game type using your drop pod switch (I would try doing it myself if I had halo 3 myself, but who knows, I might get a 360 for christmas). Well as the comment says, its a suggestion to allow the odst to be able to get out for the first 30 seconds and then it stops anyone from getting out afterwards. But the main idea behind it was using the drop pods to drop weapons and stuff equipment out of the room and a way of sniping out from the room. More or less, anyone left in there after 30 seconds provide assistance. They are blocked by a sender node floating in the mid-air that lets the pod drop and the people inside of it are sent back. Edit: This of course means, that the people are sent back almost instantly after they cause the pod to drop, fear they try to get out. And that explosives are by no means allowed in the room and no friendly fire (altho i forgot if there is a friendly fire setting in halo 3 or not).
lol... I showed you the map when it was 1/2 complete. Not sure how this counts as helping, but whatever, I added you anyways. I'm a bit confused. Does this have anything to do with either Asset or Protocol? Or is this a gametype suggestion because I'm even more confused now.
If you're going to do that, can you please do this over visitor messages or private messages? I don't wan't my map flooded with comments that have nothing to do with the map itself, thanks.
Definitely. I'll probably make mess a mess of the map though... The actual map is very well forged and has great aesthetics, but I'm not sure of gameplay (haven't played it yet). For a bit of variety, you should make an Elite class (I know they're not in ODST, but what the hell). I'll play on it as soon as I can.
It's not necessary. The gameplay is excellent as is and adding elites would be considered pointless considering that Brutes are pretty much the same as Elites minus the use of an Energy Sword.
You know one thing I like about this map? The towers blasting away make it sound like the whole place is a battlefield. Usually they're just annoying in the outside-sandbox maps, but here they work really well. Amazing map, by the way. I watched the video, and it's epic. Would love to play it if a bunch of other people are gonna, I don't have enough friends that play halo anymore to do it myself, so please message me! Great map 5/5.
The Asset gametype has been updated and replaced with a version able to support all Asset based maps. One of the major changes being losing points when a VIP falls off the edge.
Maybe we should have a "Asset in Matchmaking petition." No offense to conquest, but with a little tweaking, Asset probably deserves to be in matchmaking more than comquest, because its so much fun. BTW, if you are interested in sumbmitting or getting the info for making an asset map, check this out.
Wouldnt work in matchmaking, cause everything has to be explained before hands and it also doesn't work when the VIP is AFK. At least in conquest you're not totally screwed if someone isn't playing.
I played this map the other day, with a big party and we got into some ridiculous battles. First time I’ve been in a drop pod. The map, was quite fun to play. The structures in the sand really stand out in a unique way. It’s obvious you put some effort into this map. The story was well written, and the pics were nice.5/5!
This game is extremely fun, I played it with 9 other people nearly 10 times in a row and virgil only escaped once. The game promotes teamwork and a good strategy. The only annoying part of the gametype is after the hornet spawns, everyone rushs to it and the driver will be randomly allowed to get in then be kicked out unless virgil is smart enough to get in the side but in all the craziness it's really hard to do that.
I really like how no one is trying to get away from the structure... you are so genius... The other ODST gametype that I saw needed almost 16 players so there is a lot of infected... but in this gametype, you can only be 8 and it will be a fun game.... You did a really good job.
Sweet! That's one of my favorite Sad Faic videos so far. I had fun playing this with you guys tonight! I was surprised that i worked so well with only 8 players. I can't wait to play some of the new Asset maps and try out the new version of the gametype. Now that the super secret drop system is complete, the map that ell3ment and I are working on should be done in a week or so! Oh, and I'll put together a few different canvases for the drop system as well. One with towers blocked and Drop Pods too. Love the game Rifte!
Alright, I'll try harder to finish up the damn guide then I'm guessing that tonight was the first time you made it to the destination tonight, right?
One of the best Games Ive ever played in Halo 3, the balance is perfect, the drop pods are a beautiful touch. I love how many times when the asset actually disables vehicles and actually does something rather than running away.
This one is my favorite. I have an idea. You should make one of these that has to do with one of those big ships in orbit. You could put it outside of the spacebubble, so it would work like the drop pods in this one, with dps and vehicles(warthogs, scorpions, whatev.) dropping to the ground. ODSTs would wait it out until e-vac arrives(other players can stay in the ship too. You could make a MAC cannon that they could use to blow the **** out of the brutes on the ground[stationary wraith on a tin cup].) As soon as the hornet spawns in the orbital ship(this probably will require someone to stay), they fly down to the ground, pick up Virgil, and then fly up to a point in the sky(going back to the orbital ship) and the round is over. You could do something using the spawning of your pelican?(maybe behind the ground base after a set amount of time, carrying vehicles, like a tank, and it only spawns once, idk). Something like that. I just dont have the time or patience to do this. I have tried already but it just doesn't turn out. Your pretty good at this stuff, so I think you will make good use.
