Download Process So basically, when I got Sandbox, I started messing around with a true Damnation remake. Through an hour of playing around, I decided to dedicate some time to actually forging it. This is what I have come up with. Critique and comment all you like. Its not perfect and needs a little polish. Yet, I now have a biased opinion on the map and it needs to be looked at by the public. I am looking for some testers, and comments on how to make this a better map. Gametypes Supported : as of 03/09/09 Slayer Weapons on the Map: 2 Snipers : Drop 120 sec 1 Rocket : Drop 180 sec 1 Mauler : 90 sec 2 BR : 10 sec 2 Carbine : 30 sec 4 Frags 4 Plasmas NOTICE : The main areas of the map, have been enclosed. This means that the rocket hole, shottys, above shottys, low sniper, and the ramp to green/blue are en-closed. Plasma pistol spawn, Red base, Crap spawn w PR, and Green/Blue are all open-air. Therefore, you can fall off. I constituted this with the lack of fall damage in Halo 3. If you don't have to crouch-fall in Halo 3, you have to be aware of where you can fall off. That looks amazing, good job, I don't have the mythics yet but I bookmarked this for when I get them. It seriously looks like the original, and I cant wait to play on it. Its going to give me the same nostalgic feeling that I had when playing the foundry reamake of chill out
I like the map, it looks like it has an original feel to it only a few things don't look perfectly straight on it. 1 thing though you might want to add some assault rifles too for any games (like most) that have AR starts. I'll play it tomorrow to see its game play. The open part in the middle where you can fall off looks almost crooked but I can't tell. Also a open fall area can sometimes affect the game negatively but I don't know I have not played it yet so I'll get back to you 4.?/5
Thanks man. Its funny how I did no comparison until near the end. I built the whole map off of memories from back in the day. Then went back an made some small changes for aesthetic sake. I played an unhealthy amount of Halo CE.
This map reminds me of some good ol' Halo 2. Not quite sure, I never really played it.... I'll DL as soon as I can!
It has been cleaned up immensely since I took those pictures. And i can always make a Classic weapon layout if there is a want for it. Thanks
Okay I liked the little story you put in there. The weapon list is like beautiful. And the pictures show pure genius.I love the way the colors are used. Anyways nice map.I can't find one little smudge that is not perfect. Welcome to forgehub and good luck in the future.

I just went through it, and it's actually pretty true to the original Damnation.. besides the size of course. The limitations of Sandbox probably prevent making it the exact size. It brings back some good ol' memories from Halo CE. I hope it plays in a similar way. There are places you can tidy up.. and maybe fix some bumps on the floors and stuff, but it doesn't really hurt it. Overall, this map deserves a 4/5 from me.
After going through this map, I was very impressed with how much it felt like damnation. Its frustrating that there isnt enough money/objects to let you build walls around the whole thing, but it doesnt take much of anything away from the map, it might even add to the gameplay. Nice job
I believe it is somewhere like six or seven boxes high. I wasted a lot of the budget trying to get the vertical feel of damnation. It just sucks we don't have the fall damage in Halo 3. It was a huge part of this map that made it work. Thanks to everyone that downloaded. I still have not got to play 4s on it, so I have no clue how it actually plays.

Wow this looks great. It seems that you put a lot of effort into making it as much of a replica as possible, did you use reference pics? I'm downloading now and I'll check it out tomorrow to give my opinion after playing.
To be honest, I did the whole map purely from memory. When I needed to work on spawns, I loaded up Halo CE to get the authentic spawns and compare and contrast what I had created. Surprisingly, there were a few minor details that I missed, which then were fixed.
Dude this looks amazing... I was recently looking over old Halo maps and remembered Damnation and said that would be amazing to have remade and by the looks of it you nailed it.
Has anyone ran any games on this yet? Id like to know how it actually flows during a game, but none of my friends have the maps yet.
Ah. Well i did a quick run through of the map, and it's a very detailed remake. I can see that you were limited by budget (only $10 remaining) so you couldn't wall of some of the stair areas, but that's ok because the players will just fall off and die. Overall, I would say this is vquite accurate, 5/5.
I'm downloading it now. I'll run a 3v3 Team Slayer game or 5 player FFA with my friends depending on how many are online.
Very good! This was by far my favorite map from Halo 1 and I contemplated making it but yours turned out great. I downloaded and played through it. Nothing really to gripe at but I hope you didn't mind, I cleaned up some of the edges and lined some blocks up so it's not so bumpy running through. This is one of the best remakes I've played yet.
