I don't know what the deal is. I loved the first L4D to death, but the second one just seemed so much more... generic. I think it was the addition of the new, lame infected, the cool but ultimately impractical melee weapons, and campaigns that tried too hard to be set pieces.
Yah, that and the characters kind of sucked. But I'm going to get the DLC because I really want to see the old survivors.
