    Unless I'm missing something... 55401st post = 55400th reply.
The first post of the thread doesn't count as a reply.

Less than three hundred posts in halo forums, been here for less than two years, and they gave you a quasi-admin rank? Or is staff not what it was when grif was staff

No, post count hasn't meant anything since Grif first became a moderator in 2007.
Just an extension of thought regarding the part where I've never heard of a vast majority of the staff

That's fair enough. Though I can't talk on behalf of anyone else, I'm happy to give a brief description of my involvement in the forging scene, and perhaps offer some insight into why I was asked to join the staff.

I've been a Halo enthusiast since the beginning. Having become addicted to FPS's though Goldeneye, when the newest generation of video game systems came out I bought the XBOX purely for Halo. Despite the fact that my thumbs don't do what my brain wants them to do with a controller, I became enamored with the competitive Halo scene in 2004, near the end of the Halo CE era. I have maintained an interest in it ever since. Though I never actually built anything or participated in any forums during Halo 3's lifespan, I was an avid watcher of the forge forums on the MLG website. I loved not only seeing maps that were created in forge, but also very much enjoyed learning about how to design maps that play well in Halo. I think I probably read every single post ever made in the forge forums at MLG. I was aware of Forgehub, but the competitive scene was my main interest, and for that reason I didn't stray much from the MLG site during the Halo 3 era.

With the introduction of Reach, and the enormous increase in the ease of use in forge compared to Halo 3, I became quickly addicted to building maps. I spent easily over 100 hours working on each of the first few maps I made (even though they were terrible, lol), learning the ins and outs of forge. I became fairly involved in the forge forums at MLG during that time, and also dipped my toes in the Forgehub pool. Over the last 2 1/2 years, I have spent endless hours building my own maps and helping others refine theirs. I have consistently offered feedback to other forgers, detailing what works and doesn't work on their map, why it does or doesn't work, and how to improve the areas that aren't working. My main goal has always been to learn as much as possible about designing maps for Halo, and to share what I learn with others. While I am reasonably confident in any feedback I offer, I never feel that my word should be final. I always try to encourage people to simply consider what I have to say and then determine for themselves what is best.

If I had to guess why I was invited to join the staff here on Forgehub, though, I would say that it's mostly the result of how I've interacted with people on various forums over the years. I think I have a reputation of being respectful and helpful. My posting history here should speak for itself, and you are welcome to check it out.

To directly address the issue of why you haven't heard of me... I would imagine it just comes down to the fact that, while we've apparently shared a common interest, we have been active participants on different websites. I've mostly been active at the MLG and THC websites due to their focus on competitive gaming. And while I was sporadically active here on Forgehub, I was apparently posting in areas of the site that you were not interested in.

I believe a staff AMA will begin soon, but I'd be happy to answer some additional questions here, if anyone has any.
