Oh really, guess I better stop bashing on things I know nothing about. I don't even use the start button....
Yeah, Windows 8 improved just about everything and I am excited for upcoming updates to the audio side of things. Most people who hate Windows 8, hate the interface. They complained that there's no more search bar but you can literally just type after you press the windows key and it will perform a search. The tiles are designed for touch but I am not on a dinky screen with a track pad so it doesn't bother me. Also, Mountain Lion seems better than Lion... The Core Audio driver/thing sucks so much ****.
So guys, what to yall think, Purdue (biomed eng), Texas A&M (biomed eng), SMU (mech eng w/ biomed spec) Where cost is $30k/yr at purdue, and around 0-15/yr at A&M and SMU?
i had a teacher that went to purdue once, one of the coolest guys I've met. If the money is not an issue then I, personally, would definitely choose Purdue
Yeah, they release their scholarships later, probably won't get any though, I'll probably visit those three and maybe CMU/Mich, if I get in, during session and see which I like the best. Btw what ever happened with the Titmar for CM thing, is that no longer happening, because I kinda wanted that to happen.
I'll offer what I know of each school: Purdue: Basketball is the big sport there, great engineering program, great for job recruiting, meh amount of fun SMU: Trust fund babies and stereotypical sorority girls getting their MRS degrees A&M: Football is massive, solid engineering program, great for job recruiting (outstanding job recruiting within Texas), pretty solid amount of fun Of and from the people I know from pittsburgh: Go to CMU if you are already depressed, you'll fit in that way

This. Though I will say LA County (aside from LAUSD which is overworked and underpaid) has some damn good educational programs, especially the poorer area schools which get a ton of state and federal aid. I just wish high school were treated like independent study/more focused instead of being 4 years of useless general education. And I say useless because you are required to take two more years of general ed for a bachelors degree. Had it been treated like a mini-college wherein you had basic requirements and a large area of study, I would've ended up taking similar classes out of genuine interest. Of course it's unfeasible to do for every high school without turning it into a system of few institutions of learning everyone has to commute to instead of everything being local. (Which is why guided independent study, with much much more oversight and help than the current system, which would be doable if high school teachers were put into these roles, was suggested.) Regardless, I think the secondary school education system is in need of a massive revamp since it's especially outdated and has been relatively untouched since its inception centering around farming communities and schedules.
