Why? What did you use? EDIT: @xzamplez Thanks. I'm going to go download Hazard EDIT 2: darn.. couldn't find it just by searching.. have to find it on his FS.
Well yeah, I'm using the engineering/meter measurement, but I can only create rectangles that are 1.982443 by 6.01343. Does that actually matter, or is there a function that allows for rounding (or just to type the dimensions in)?
Click on one corner of the rectangle, type in dimensions like this - 3m,.5m And then you get a 3m by .5m rectangle. The way it works is negative numbers are opposite from the way you are currently pulling. @yellow LOL Maybe you should rework that little map of yours.. I was wondering why it was so weirdly open.. EDIT: Should I just edit my posts from now on?
yeah I try to ignore the negative numbers in cases that common sense helps me otherwise. Anyways, I'm glad I know that now. These beginner videos are really helping out at the moment. (just got done learning the offset and follow me tools).
I got impatient with the youtube channel and started just winging it.. and I have absolutely no idea what that is .. Maybe I should go back to youtube...
The follow me tool allows you to create a kind of tread that can trace around an entire entitiy, but idk how useful it'll be for halo maps. Anyways, I tried working on this after watching the 4 beginner videos (not so much the last one though), but this took me almost an hour to make. I hope I'll be able to move quicker than this, because this can be forged in about 10 minutes tops. This is literally just one poor base concept of Onslaught. I figured if I can't make this, then I won't have hope for the maps I like to make: Also, the screenshot system really sucks balls for me. I haven't found a quick way with my laptop.
I'm assuming you're hitting Print Screen and then pasting it into Paint and then uploading it to a photo hosting site and then linking it? That base looks alright, but is there a roof?
Yep This isn't my own map, I was just practicing a base design on sketchup so I chose MLG Onslaught from Halo 3.
Ah.. I've only played Halo 3 at friends' houses - never owned it. That's probably why I didn't recognize the layout. I'll look it up online. EDIT: It looks oddly familiar.. is there a remake in Reach I might have heard of? EDIT 2: Newly updated map! (Thanks, Auburn) Structural Changes Spoiler 1.Cover added to Green in the form of a .5 high railing. 2. Location of receiver node (orange) moved slightly and given cover (2d object is most likely a door double) to discourage people from camping at orange. 3. LoS blockers / cover put up at Orange - obscures the view of Yellow (CPU spawn) 4.Sender node moved from beneath red to the new Green cover 5. Red incline added and red ceiling slightly changed to allow for dropdowns from orange and jumps from yellow. 6. There's now a jumpup from Red to Orange. Weapon layout changes Spoiler 7. Frags are located at Red jump-up to Orange, blue incline, and evade instead of the red side of evade and orange dropdown to Red. 8. Health pack spawn at blue now every 90 seconds instead of every 70 seconds. Start still = false. 9. DMR now located underneath Yellow (bottom of the atrium). Now spawns every 50sec with 1sc, start = true. 10. AR moved from top Orange to Red side. Pictures Spoiler Overview Red side jump-up to Orange New cover for Orange, New receiver positioning + New incline at Red Green Cover (Not really happy with it, probably will change) and new Sender Node Positioning The purpose of these changes was to prevent camping at Orange, to stop camping at Orange, and prevent players from remaining at Orange for extended periods of time. So what do you guys think? Is the layout more solid now?
I'm telling you the GT of the fatass who made use of the pooleporter. His GT is Purely Fat. Look up his FS and DL Hazard. There you will find the sacred Puhleypohrdirrr.
I'm sorry Hulter, creating the layout was difficult enough on sketchup. It takes the hands of a God to create the layout on forge. Only one man below Godhood has been able to forge it since Halo 3, and his name has more upper-case letters than lower-case.
It has been rumored that his majesty will grace us with this masterpiece once more in H4 (or 208546 times more). I really hope that the dumpster makes a comeback. I firmly believe the lack of dumpster kept this map from dominating MLG like it once did in H3. There is no substitue for the dreaded dumpster.
I wouldn't admit to it, but I saw him on youtube having an interview and nothing happened to my physical stature. He wore a hat with his name stitched on though, so it's clear he is still on a high level of his spiritual hierarchy
Spoiler Interview with MLG Forger SaLoT - YouTube @Cycle: I would still have LoS on two of the routes heading up there and a good vantage point on the newly added one. It's not a huge deal, but I wouldn't substitute a tactical jump for actual viable pathing. That's just me though, so ignore it if you'd like.
Are you talking about camping at the very corner, between the yellow and orange dots? Or just camping next to the receiver? Let me think this over... If I can't come up with anything significant to fix up the top of the map, I'll just completely redesign the top. EDIT: I have a new design for the top that I think is completely solid, P) but the changes are pretty major. And I borrowed some ideas from Quake level designers.. EDIT 2: I watched the whole vid... the interviewer is awful.. EDIT 3: Quick question. Are fusion coils acceptable ways of stopping people from camping in corners? (I don't intend on spamming them instead of making good paths, btw)
