LOL. Actually, it is said that Windows users can't use Mac because it's too simple for them and they're not used to the simplicity.
You do realise that's just Mac propaganda created by the Mac Corp. to make Windows sound bad. In reality it's not true. Both OS's have their pros and cons. But I wouldn't say one is easier than the other... That's just silly.
Mac is easier then windows. There I said it. Silly me But this is still post your desktop so let's not turn it into a mac v windows thread.
Yay for ElectricSheep screensaver + Xwinwrap It's a little cheap looking as an image, but you should try this as your animated background. It's really trippy.
No way. I really hate those kinds of pics. Me being a Zelda fan, here's my screensaver. And another. When it's dark and spooky... If you have a large monitor, these look really good.
To be technical, they're not a set of pictures, but instead a video. It's pretty trippy effect; youtube it sometime.
The point of the desktop background is to be subtle but appealing. But so appealing you have a seizure from it or it distracts you from what you're actually trying to do... These are like anti-desktop pictures.
Nice wallpaper Nemi. I upgraded to Ibex, which I think is a solid update for Ubuntu, but nothing spectacular. My default file manager is now thunar, and my Icon theme is Buuf, which I love. I'm trying out mint linux, which looks really cool. For mac people: macosxhints.com - 10.5: Banish the 3D dock from 10.5 Get rid of the overdone 3d dock.
In the situation where I have a window full-screen, I don't see how my background would be distracting or whatever. I got rid of it anyways. Huge resource lag if I leave a video running all the time, resources that could be better spent elsewhere. Anyways, I leave it as my screensaver, but I suppose if I had a higher-end computer I could get away with it being my wallpaper.
