Dude, your full of **** and you know it. I played this with DontShootMe and and 6 other people and we all had screen lag issues. Don't lie just to make the map sound better than it is, your doing more harm to the author than good. He knows the issues his map has and simple needs to rework it to fix them.
Lets just take it down a notch. While frame rate problem is pretty hard to miss, maybe he just didn't go into the middle of red base that often. I wouldn't immediately say that he is full of **** just because of that statement (Then again, I am biased because he is complimenting the map ). As for people loading the map up in forge mode, that probably is a valid point. The map lags quite a bit in forge mode due to the large amount of hill markers, capture plates, flag stands and safe/kill zones on the map. On the other hand, when playing the map in customs the only spot it lags in is the middle of red base. For those of you commenting about EXTREME frame rate lag, are you loading the map in forge lobby or a custom lobby? If you are loading it up in a forge lobby please try loading it up in a custom one, you will notice that the large majority of the map is frame rate lag free. If you are loading it up in a custom lobby and there still is extreme lag, I would like to know which areas you are experiencing it in so I can try and fix it. Anyways, thank you all for the feedback.
Looks pretty sweet - how'd you get the grass to look raised up at the corners of the arena area? If bungie could figure out how to "render" your map into one big piece of geometry, maps like this would be amazing - then the framerate wouldn't be impacted by overlaying blocks etc. *crosses fingers*
Umm seriously dude. You need to calm down. I just called like I saw it. I have no personal reason to try to make this map sound better than it is. First of all I have no idea who the creator is. If I'm going to go out of my way to lie and make maps sound better I'll do it for my own, not some random forger that I have no connection with. It looked cool - I DL'd it - and played it system link with 2 per box / screen. The lag wasn't an issue.
Dude, its out right impossible that you had no lag on split screen. Either your impervious to noticing it, or you weren't on live and this was actually a lan game. But split screen on live, no chance in hell there were no frame rate spikes. I'm sorry.
You're right... it was LAN. Which is what I stated to begin with. I'm not impervious to noticing. You should try to be a little nicer when talking to people you've never met.
As XBL is the primary medium through which people play and test in groups, I assumed that's what you did. Your claim to have done it split screen did not directly imply lan, as many people play split screen on xbl. You should have stated it more clearly. As far as being nicer... You can try growing some thicker skin. I'm a nice guy, but I'm a very aggressive person and my writing reflects that.
He is quite nice but blunt, you'll get used to it. As for the framerate issues, are you planning on doing any updates to fix them? Not sure if you stated it anywhere, would be great to play this map without it.
Yes, I have stated a couple of times that I am trying to fix the frame rate issues. Unfortunately both of my controlers have decided to die on me, so I won't likely be able to get this fixed until after new years when I get a new one.
Hey bro this map is sickk. The looks and cleanliness of a map are always the deciding factors in deciding whether or not to download it. I love this and feel you could use a better sig to make people want to download it(maybe some cool font, etc). Also if you ever want to do a co-forge, as I really like your ideas in mapmaking, i would be up for that. Sincerily JDB95.
Actually, I doubt I will be able to even get on in the next two weeks with my schedule being as busy as it is. I'm leaving tomorrow to take the five hour drive to my parents house, where I will be for two days, then I am heading to my grandparents house for Christmas (another five hour drive). The day after I fly out to Vegas for my holiday basketball tournament, then it's back to my parents place for New Years, and then finally back to my college on the 3rd. Including the flight time from Wisconsin to Vegas I will log a little more than 35 hours of travel time over the next two weeks. While I probably will bring my box everywhere, even if I find a spot to get online I doubt I will find enough time to finsh the lag free version of the map and upload it, so don't expect the updated version until late in the first week of January.
Hey so I'd love to get in there a tweak a little for you (with your permission of course). Freeing up all of those railing pieces at $50 a pop will open up a ton of possibilities. Let me know as I'd love to see this one running smoothly asap.
Amazing map *downloaded* one question...can you walk up those stairs? or do i have to hop up each one? just asking, thanks!
This Map does have really nice ideas to it, but is done where it causes to much screen lag. Maybe I saw a older version but it was pretty un playable. If you could fix it it would be a much better map.
The map is perfectly playable as it is. There is only minor frame rate lag when coming out of the middle of red base and that is it. You most likely loaded the map up in a forge lobby, which would explain any major amount of lag. Objects such as hill markers, flag stands, capture plates, and safe/kill zones have to be rendered when in a forge lobby, and due to the large amount of these objects (150+), frame rate lag is increased exponentially. When playing the map in a custom lobby, none of these objects have to be rendered, so the frame rate lag becomes almost a non issue. I currently am trying to fix the frame rate problem and as soon as I can I will upload a map that is frame rate free.
This map plays like a dream. Love the layout - excellent, the choice LOS, nice compact get-me-to-the action openess, the where am I getting shot from very pleasing on the eyes cut of this map. Very good job. Almost forgot - a tiny teeny little bit of that clippy quirk we who forge love to hate. I dont even like symetrical forge - they all feel like a forge, this one brought me out into a courtyard - thanks
Cool beans, now I can enjoy all the greatness of that middle structure without any lag! The map still looks great even with the lag reducing changes and still plays great too. Nice job finally getting around to fixing this.
