Pit Omega Beta Pit Omega Beta Download This map is a remake of my first FH submitted map, Pit Tao Upsilon (and its successor, Pit Theta Rho). It is one of the two maps submitted in my Guilder Application, but I decided to share it with the community at large. This is a very small, but not cramped map made for 1v1 or 1v2 battles which I have with my friends. It uses a slightly unconventional piece of equipment for a competitive map, a Firebomb Grenade, to give it more of a unique feel. Additionally, I added extensive scenery outside of the playable area to tie into the map's canon of being part of a testing laboratory (think Aperture Science from portal, but without food for most prisoners). I hope to expand on the canon in the future, but this map is good enough for now. The map itself is composed of three levels of varying strengths in weaponry and scenery. The uppermost level (The Ring) is a four-sided loop that encircles the lower floors below it. This upper area contains nearly all of the grenades and weapons, but the most powerful stuff is located on the lower levels. Each side of the loop is either a Long Hall with an Assault Rifle and a frag grenade located inside the open double box, or a Short Hall, with a frag and plasma grenade inside each open box. At each corner, you will either find a pair of duel wieldable weapons, or a BR. Floor 1 Weapons List: -2 Assault Rifles -2 Battle Rifles -2 SMGs -2 Spikers -4 Frag Grenades -2 Plasma Grenades Long and Short Halls, respectively: The second level is a death pit, containing relatively little cover, but the powerful Firebomb grenade, along with the ability to reach the lowest level. It has two holes in the floor to get to the lower level, and to ramps to get back up to the first level. Floor 2 Weapons List: -2 Plasma Rifles -1 Firebomb Grenade The lowest level is very small, containing the rough area of 4x1x1 foundry Open Boxes. There is also the duel risk of the fusion coil in the middle of the floor and the pair of destructable grav lifts which serve as the only means back out of the pit. But these risks could be argued to be worth it, as in the middle of this third level is the Shotgun, particularly powerful in this small environment. But camping this third floor for the precious power weapon is discouraged, as the aforementioned fusion coil is prone to explode with any grenade thrown into the box. Floor 3 Objects: -1 Shotgun (0 extra clips) -1 Fusion Coil -2 Scenic Gravity Lifts (30 sec respawn) View of the lower level: And last, I want to draw the players eye out of the map, as I added a large amount of scenery to keep with the story of the prisoner test subjects. To examine the upper scenery more closely, one can spawn a sender node inside of the pit, linked to the already available output node outside of the pit. I spent a great deal of time on this last piece, and I hope it shows my commitment to detailing even the most sterile map environments. As always, feedback greatly appreciated.
Looks really professional and neat, good use of interlocking. Oh, and I really like the fence wall roof.
very nice map i like how its small.....good for 1v1 and i have to ask im curious cause i havent tried it yet wat does that hole lead to?
This looks like a very well made 1v1 map. I really like that you interlocked alot that shows you spent more time on it. Ill DL now.
Really good job on this one. I downloaded a while back but never commented, but this map plays really well for 1v1 and 2v2. The shotgun area underneath the rest of the map was excellent, and the roof is very well constructed.
I rememebr dl ing this from your file share. I havent played against anyone on it but I think I still have it on my hard drive
Brilliantly made. Hey anytime you need some people for game send me an invite. I love testing maps. My GT is: Patchworkzombie
Oooooh, I checked this out and I must say, great job! I loved the little pit and thought you did a superb job on interlocking, worth the DL.
Hey thanks. I spent a good chunk of time on this, the smallest of competitive maps. I'm going to try to adapt the concept into other maps in the future; something to look forward to over the summer.
