Phoenix Created By S0 Salty and Kon Artist Recommended Players: 8 Recommended Gametypes: MLG Ball V5, MLG TS V5, MLG CTF Ons V5 Tired of the same old "one base at each end, a tower on each side and something fancy in the middle" MLG design? Well Phoenix changes all of that, with a design that makes the center of the map a place to be rather than the instant death trap that it is on so many other MLG maps. Phoenix also boasts great connectivity, where in most maps the center is a stand alone structure, or is barely connected to the outside ring, Phoenix's center really is a major part of the map, as it has an entrance to the overshield spawn, and almost every other possible objective on the map. Aesthetically the map is no push-over either showcasing a masterfully crafted grav-lift encasement, that is both perfectly operable and a sight to be seen, along with bases that promote movement to all areas of the map whilst creating the feeling of a true stronghold that is more than necessary for any base in any area of forging. But most importantly, Phoenix offers the highly competitive gameplay style that MLG preaches, as it requires true teamwork to get that flag cap, or control the ball effectively, whilst still emphasizing the necessity of individual skill. I always appreciate an MLG map that is different from the ones in matchmaking. This map looks very unique. MLG really needs to start getting more maps like this, I am so tired of onslaught and MLG Amplified
wow, I never saw this but it looks really nice, deserves a feature, very nice map guys! I like the layout, merging those bridges can be hard and to make it symmetrical is even harder, I love the use of vertical boxes on these new MLG maps and I love the way that you utilize the ability to geomerge and interlock.
I actually did not see this becoming featured, but yet again I predicted thered be a featured map today. God I am awesome. Now, on to the map. It is beautifully interlocked and geomerged, and the gameplay is great. I'm glad this got featured Congrats S0 Salty and Kon Artist
I was surprised at the lack of interest in this map when it was first released here. I'm really happy to see that it's getting the acclaim that it so richly deserves.
Congrats on the feature guys. Glad that another MLG map has been featured. I loved this map from the very beginning it was posted. Phoenix is really unlike any other MLG map. The gameplay here sometimes feels as if it's a competitive map rather than an MLG one. The sides of the map give perfect balance, and the middle was the one that obviously caught everybody's eye. Hope to see more maps like this get featured.
wow, great MLG map, it is excellent, love the center structure(s) perfect merging etc. and looks ultra competitive, good job i'm amazed at how you managed to make such a functional middle section, this shakes the MLG formula, in a good way
Congrats on teh feature. This definetely looks unique compared to some other MLG maps Ive seen. Especially the architecture in some spots as in the way you merged it. And like you said in the map description, you did agreat job with connecting all the structures.
Yeah, This is a beauty. I dont even like MLG that much but its maps like these that keep me looking at the MLG section. Its really very clean and smooth, seems a little open but you get that in most MLG maps. Its not crazy open though so its still great. I mean it is featured(lol). This really is something I would expect from Kon Artist, your style is sweet. Congratz to you and salty on the feature. Keep it up. Oh yeah, a lil off the subject, Why would you post just to be on the first page? Like preserving your front page post is more important than your comments on the map.
Damn Iv0ry that introduction was so EPIC! It had me at the edge of my chair buddy. Anywho this is a great map I played it at my friends house and thought it was great. The gameplay on this is freaking great! OK this is one of my fav MLG Maps to date. Pretty much everything about the middle and blah that Iv0ry said is my opinion too! XD
Dang! I can't believe I missed this map! After seeing that this got featured I checked out all the other maps you have made and my, my. Weren't they impressive! I'm glad that one of you has gotten Premium now! Very nice job on the map, and when I say that I hope to see more from you two, don't I mean it!? I love how it strays away from the normal MLG layout and provides us with a very unique one, that is very different from Amplified or any other MLG map I have ever seen. The bases look fantastic, and I don't see any improvements that you need in the geomerging or interlocking. Great job you two! 5/5 and I'm downloading right this very second!
Congrats on the feature!! I really like the central area. I cant believe I missed this one! It looks really pretty, but this really isnt my style of map. I can tell a lot of hard work has been put in to this though, it definitely deserves the feature.=) Again, congrats!
I do not know where this map came from, but I really think that it deserves the feature basically because the nice layout and structures. Also interlockage played a part in it to. I didnt test it but from the looks of it, it looks like it plays well. I will try to download this later to see how it plays. Nice to see a MLG map featured. Nice job
Amplified and Onslaught?? *YAWN* This is where it is at, a single base, MLG, Foundry Map? SHOOP'DA'WOOP!!
wow another mlg map co forged by th likes of kon artist. does this make you premium now(if you already are, my bad i havent looked to the mlg section in a long time XD) anyway i posted on the original thread and again it looks like an innovative mlg design. ill give it a dl althogh i dont play custom mlg games that much.
Thanks everyone for all the great feedback, and taking the time to try our map. I appreciate it greatly! Thanks Forge Hub!!!!!
This map really is amazing. I spent 15 minutes just walking around on it in Forge. One of my favorite features is the little grav lift tucked away in the middle. Its interesting. It's hidden in the center of the map. How's that for an oxymoron?
thanks guys, if you havn't played it yet, you should. Also salty has an FFA version in his file share, that has OS and rocks removed. However, I would recommend trying some MLG team game types-- all play very well, and you'll find that the OS isn't over powered in 4s. neways, thanks again. and make sure to tell salty thanks too, this map was something we worked on together for months-- but salty had been working on it for almost a year
I'm so happy to see that this map was given a feature. It is so well made and so undercredited. At first nobody noticed this map when it was first posted, but now that it has got its feature its got the credit it deserves Way to go S0 Salty and Kon Artist 5/5
